Themes are cute and all but they just aren’t necessary. There’s so many lovely, dreamy ideas I see on social media but I’m here to keep things simple for babies, children AND the parents. You don’t need picture perfect moments to create the best start for your child’s early learning development 🥰🧡

I’m one mama doing all of this on my own purely because I care - no franchise, no funding, no co-workers (yet 😉). I’m a registered instructor with Zumbini (Early Years Music/Movement Education) but it’s a programme that I’ve adapted to suit Caithness families. The messy play (only themed sort of stuff I will do) & baby sensory is all from previous experiences, qualifications/workshops/courses and a drive to offer families more opportunities.

Trust me when I say that my brain is quite literally a jungle 😆

ASN Christmas Party this Saturday! 🥰

Please message me if you’d like to come along as spaces are limited to avoid crowding & overstimulation. There’s no pressure to arrive for 10 or stay to 11.

What to expect? Zumbini for 10/15 mins, some snacks, a hot cuppa for the adults, and toys including sensory exploration for your children. There’s no decorations or Santa in attendance - just Christmas music! 🎄 all for £5.

Don’t miss your last chance to do some Zumbini at our ASN sessions. I’d really love to welcome any families to this and show you just how much of a lovely environment it is, helping to tide over any anxiety that you ARE in safe hands in a room of people who just get it!

Have you got? 👀
- Small/medium wicker baskets
- Figurines related to animals on land, ocean, jungle, or insects. Any other small world toys would be highly appreciated too for farms, construction, etc. to promote imaginative play and understanding in fields of work
- Old household items such as a baking trays, measuring jugs or cups, wooden spoons or bowl, those bad boy telephones ☎️
- Magnetic tiles or stickle bricks
- Dress up costumes (anything!)

A home awaits any of your preloved things at an exciting new group designed alongside the Early Years framework for Scotland 🥰, I’ll hopefully have bookings out for Wriggly Weekers before Christmas 🤞🏼.

*I’ll be doing charity shop visits but seeing if anybody has anything first!*

I’ve made a questionnaire that I’d appreciate any local mums to fill out for Wriggly Weekers. This is open to expectant mums and any child up to the age of 3. Most of the equipment/toys will be suitable from birth to 2/3. Any ASN Families, your feedback would also be appreciated as there will be specific sessions for you also.

One last day of Zumbini sessions 2025 before we have all our Christmas parties this Friday, Saturday and next Tuesday (12th, 13th, 16th). A very bittersweet day, what a 3 years it’s almost been to have the privilege of working with just shy of 700 kids… I can’t wait to be back to it in August 2026 but also taking time to spend with my little family 💙

A week of cheeses 😁 although Zumbini is starting to come to a close 😢

We worked on problem solving as our parachute moved different ways and as we navigated over & under it whilst strengthening our muscles 💪🏼 before getting some Christmas tunes on to count backwards from 5️⃣🧝🏼 and create a beat to a well loved song 🦌🔴 using bells & tambourines.

FRIDAY GROUPS - you have your Christmas party NEXT WEEK (12th)! Please let me know what food you’d like and any allergies 🥰

ASN - NO CLASS tomorrow (6th) but we have a party NEXT WEEK on the 13th! 🎉 it is open to anybody even if you have been to 1 session of Zumbini or none!

TUESDAY GROUPS - 1 session remains (9th) before your Christmas party on the 16th 🎄
