Its with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Mackay, loving husband to Cathy, devoted dad to James, Donna, David and the late Trisha, proud grandad to Karla, Morgan, Logan and Carrie, and cherished great-grandad to Rowan. James was born on 22/02/1936 and passed away in Caithness General peacefully on Thursday 19th February 2026, surrounded by love. A devoted family man, James dedicated his life to those he cared for most. As a dad, he was a steady guiding hand, offering wisdom, strength and unwavering support. As a grandad, he was a source of warmth, laughter, and gentle encouragement, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Funeral private. Mary, Wilson & Lewis owe much gratitude to many people, following the sad death of their mother Mary. Firstly, to Sanders and team for their efficient arrangements and kindly advice. Thank you too, to the many people who sent cards, flowers, baking/food and other gifts. Donations of £700 have been received and will be divided between Laurandy Day Care, SIMBA and Held in our Hearts (local).
Finally, to all the team at Seaview House Care Home. The genuine care, love and dignity shown to our mam since her admission enabled her to LIVE as best she could right to the end -thank you.

David, Robert, Valerie and their families would like to sincerely thank all friends, colleagues and neighbours for the many thoughtful cards and messages, flowers and support following the sad passing of their father Gordon. Sincere thanks to Sarah Wilkinson for the warm and personal service, the staff of Sinclair Funeral Directors for their kindness, guidance and professionalism during this sad time. Thanks also to Jan Sutherland for the beautiful flowers and the Mackay's Hotel for their hospitality. The family would also like to specially thank the amazing NS carers who looked after their dad whilst at home and to all the staff of the Caithness General Hospital Rosebank Ward for their kindness and care shown during his stay there. A final thanks to everyone who paid their respects at the service and graveside and who generously donated £1129 to the Laurandy Day Centre in Wick.
