A man has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after an incident on the M6 at Orrell this morning.

Latest update from Greater Manchester Police:

"At around 10.25am today (1 March), officers responded to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man close to Junction 26 on the M6.

He has subsequently been taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing".

My thoughts are with the man, his family, and loved ones, and I really hope he pulls through.

What might seem an inconvenience for us, because of traffic, etc, but for the person who is going through what they're going through, the last thing they're thinking about is the traffic.

Prayers he pulls though.

The M6 has now re-opened in both directions between junctions 26 and 27.
