🌅 FREE Creative Mindfulness Session for the VCFSE Sector 🌅

If you work or volunteer in the VCFSE world, you’ll know how easy it is to look after everyone else and forget to take even a tiny moment for yourself. So here’s your little reminder to pause, breathe and do something calming.

I’m running a relaxed creative painting session where we’ll create a warm, sunrise-style Wigan piece. No pressure to be “good” at art. Just gentle guidance, a chilled space and a couple of hours to switch off.

I’ve been thinking lately about how overwhelming life feels, and how different it is compared to even 50 years ago...

Back then people had their struggles, of course they did, but life wasn’t this constant overload of noise, expectations, notifications, pressure, decisions, messages, demands, appointments, school updates, self-improvement, social comparisons, and trying to be available 24/7.
There wasn’t a phone buzzing every two minutes.
There wasn’t pressure to do it all.
There wasn’t this constant feeling that if you drop a ball, everything will fall apart.

No wonder so many of us feel like we’re failing when we can’t keep up.
We’re living in a completely different world now, one that asks so much from us, all at once.

And the truth is… we aren’t built to do everything alone.
We’re not meant to function like machines.
We’re not meant to juggle a hundred roles without support.
We’re humans. We’re tired. We’re trying. And trying to carry everything by ourselves is why so many of us feel overwhelmed, behind, and not enough. ❤️

Some days I genuinely sit there thinking I’m failing, especially when I’m emotional over something small or frustrated because I have lost my keys again (usually while they’re in my hand). 😅
But I’m starting to realise it’s not that I’m failing… it’s that the load is too heavy for one person.

If you’re feeling the same, please hear this:
You’re not failing.
You’re living in a world that asks too much, too fast, too often.
You deserve support. You deserve rest. You deserve connection.
We all do.

We can’t do everything alone.
And we’re not meant to ❤️

🌟 We’re Looking for More Wonderful Volunteers from January! 🌟

As many of you know, something big is coming for us next year.
I can’t say anything publicly yet because I’ve not signed the paperwork, but trust me… it’s exciting 👀✨

Because of that, we’re on the lookout for a few more lovely volunteers to join our little LSoC family.

If you’re someone who:
✨ Loves anything creative
✨ Enjoys being around people
✨ Wants to help make our sessions feel welcoming and calm
✨ Or just fancies getting involved in something positive

Then honestly, you’d fit right in.

Volunteering with us can look like:
🎨 Setting up materials
💬 Chatting to people and helping them feel comfortable
📦 Packing down
📸 Taking the odd photo
☕ Keeping the vibes cosy
🌈 And even running your own sessions if you ever feel comfortable. There really is something for everyone.

You don’t have to be arty, just kind, reliable, and happy to get stuck in. Our sessions are warm, friendly, and full of lovely people, and you’d be surrounded by a team that genuinely cares.

Next Thursday (20th November) is Social Enterprise Day 💚
And we’re really proud that Let's SHAPE Our Creativity CIC is part of the celebrations!

Alice will be at Fur Clemt for the day ... she has LOTS of experience so this is perfect for anyone wanting advice, ideas or just a friendly chat about running or starting a social enterprise.

LSoC will be delivering our own creative session as part of the Social Enterprise activities (but on a different day.) It’ll be a chance for people working in social enterprises across the borough to pause, reset and get stuck into something creative...and to check out what we do!

We’ll be announcing the date, theme and booking details very soon, so keep an eye out 👀✨

For Social Enterprise day next Thursday (November 20th), Alice will be in Fur Clemt ! With 20 years of VCFSE experience, we'd love if you'd come chat, work or even just sit with Alice for the day. Pick her brain, share ideas, ask her for advice running or setting up your own social enterprise or even just have a gab.

Further, we've arranged some free activities for people working in social enterprises across the Borough, provided by other social enterprises such as Let's SHAPE Our Creativity CIC , Hailstone Holistics , Ataraxia , Complete Kindness CIC , Wigan Wellness Web , Mindful By Nature and Mindful Events . You'll be seeing more about that soon. (See our or their pages!)

Some lovely news to share…🙌🥰

We’ve been awarded £1,000 funding from Wigan Council's Supporting Communities fund to help us provide creative sessions over the colder, darker months.

This time of year can feel tough for a lot of people. The days get shorter, routines change, energy dips… and having somewhere warm to go, to create, talk and just be can make such a difference.

I’m really grateful for this support and the chance to keep offering something positive when people might need it the most.

🎨✨ Baubles & Bubbles at The Royal Oak! ✨🥂

A chilled festive night where we can all sit down, unwind and get creative together. It’s that point in December where everything feels a bit full-on, so a couple of hours painting baubles with a glass of bubbles sounds perfect to me 😂🎄

Everyone will get two baubles to paint - so you could make one for you and have the other as a gift.

And yes… a complimentary glass of fizz because why not? Its Christmas :).

🎉✨ What a night! ✨🎉

Last night we celebrated Let’s SHAPE Our Creativity’s 2nd birthday back where it all began Little Fifteen Wigan ❤️

It meant so much being surrounded by so many incredible people ... what started as a few sessions has grown into a true community of what I now class as friends. 💕

A huge thank you to everyone who helped set up, donated, bought tickets, or supported in any way. Between our £2 for 2 Years campaign and the fundraiser night, we’ve raised over £500 towards LSoC! 🙌

Every penny helps us keep sessions accessible and move closer to our own SHAPE Space. 💜

🎄 Christmas Tree Tea Light Holder Painting 🎨

A festive morning to get creative and unwind before the Christmas chaos begins! 🎅✨
We’ll be painting our own Christmas Tree tea light holders using acrylics - simple, relaxing and so lovely to take home and pop a candle in.
