I didn’t become this kind of mum by accident

I became her after a breakdown

After burnout
After abandoning myself for too long
After realising I was accepting things that were quietly breaking me

My breakdown wasn’t weakness
It was the moment I stopped tolerating what hurt
The moment I learned boundaries
The moment I chose myself

I’m not calm all the time
I’m not perfectly organised
I don’t get it right every day

But I repair
I reflect
I take responsibility

And I’ve turned that journey into the work I now do with other women from training yes but also lived experience

If you’re healing while raising humans
you don’t need more shame
You need safety
You need nervous system support
You need someone who understands self-abandonment and rebuilding

Upward and downward comparison is real

It just means this may no longer be their chapter or role in your story

Life gets better when you stop people pleasing

But first you have to realise you’re doing it

1. You say yes when your body is saying no
2. You tell yourself one more time won’t hurt
3. You make the extra plan even though you’re exhausted
4. You shrink yourself to keep the peace
5. You turn a blind eye and give people a million chances they haven’t earned
6. You never prioritise yourself because you’re too busy being everything to everyone else friends family partner the kids
7. You pour from an empty cup and call it love

If you felt a little seen reading that it’s probably not by accident 🤍

People pleasing isn’t kindness it’s usually fear
Fear of rejection
Fear of conflict
Fear of not being needed

And slowly you lose connection to your own inner guidance
To your feminine energy
To what you actually want

I know because I’ve been there
