Another lovely afternoon at the Salvation Army dementia café. Brenda, Jimmy, Lillian, Lynn, Les and Dennis were joined by children from Nicol Mere Primary School, who performed a scarf dance they'd been learning.

It's one of the things that makes this café so special. Children regularly come along and to watch the generations connect with each other is a joy to see.

Lillian summed it up perfectly, "This has been a great afternoon, you can bring me again." ☀️

Behind every great day out is someone who makes it all possible. For us, that someone is Leighton, our minibus driver.

Our Wellbeing Lead Ashley says: "He'd do anything for anyone. He's one of the gang."

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than a two-course meal with friends and loved ones?

We tucked into a beautiful lunch today thanks to our fantastic kitchen team. We finished with a delicious chocolate lovers cake and there wasn't a crumb left.

Love was in the air at Shawcross as we got creative making Valentine's cards and crafts for our loved ones. 💕

Every morning at Shawcross, Stan opens the curtains and greets everyone on shift with a friendly "Good Morning". He spent many years with a similar routine in the army.

By breakfast, the "Golden Girls" are at their usual table. Three ladies who start every day together over a cup of tea. The team joke they're the home's neighbourhood watch.

Everyone here brings something wonderful.

Muscle strengthening session in full swing at Shawcross. 💪

A combination of ball games, seated exercises and dancing with the wonderful team from RISE has seen our residents building strength over time.

It's fantastic to see their progression and we always have such a laugh in the process.

Out and about with the lovely Brenda today. ✨

First stop: shopping. She and Wellbeing Lead Ashley had a browse and picked out some lovely things. Second stop: Tom & Jerry's for lunch. Because what's a day out without a cup of tea?

One-to-one trips matter so much to us. They help strengthen relationships between our team and residents which allows us to better centre care around each person and their unique interests and passions.

Our New Year's Outing to Bents. 🌿

New Year's Day called for a trip out, so we popped over to Bents for a browse in the sales.

We ended our outing with tea and cake and enjoyed chatting away with one another.

We all came home happy and that's why these outings matter so much to us.

We had such a gorgeous Christmas Day together. 🎄

We spent the morning opening cards and gifts before welcoming loved ones to enjoy Christmas dinner with us.

A huge thank you to our team who worked so hard to make everything run smoothly and to all the families who joined us.
