Our lovely patient Mary is 100 years old today! 🎂💯

Birthday house calls are the best kind, and today is the biggest one yet. Dr Kelly and our Nurse Charlotte popped in today to celebrate a truly incredible milestone.

It’s not every day we get to celebrate a century of life, and Mary is doing it with such grace and style. Doesn’t she look absolutely amazing? 💖

🩸 Extraordinary Turnout at Our Ad Hoc Drop-In Blood Clinic! 🩸

We are absolutely thrilled with the success of our ad-hoc drop-in blood clinic tonight! A huge thank you to the 40+ patients who attended.

We’ve listened to your feedback regarding the difficulties of attending community phlebotomy clinics. While GP surgeries are not officially commissioned to provide routine blood taking services, we believe it is vital to support our community and ensure you receive safe and timely care.

🌟 Team Shout Out: A massive well done to our incredible nursing and patient support teams for managing such a high volume of patients with a smile.

📸 In the Photo: Here is Charlotte with tonight’s samples, ready to personally transport them to the hospital lab to get your results back as quickly as possible.

We will keep you updated on whether we are able to do more clinics based on tonight's success!

It's really important to get your bloods done when invited and if for any reason you are having difficulties getting them done please let our Practice Manager know by either using askmygp or contacting us via phone.

🌸 A bittersweet farewell (for now!) 🌸

Today we are saying a huge "see you soon" to our wonderful Operational and Quality Manager, Mel, who is heading off to start her maternity leave! 👶🎀

While you might not always see Mel’s face at reception she has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes. From keeping our systems running smoothly to ensuring our trainee clinicians have the best possible placement experience with us, she is a huge part of the heart of this practice.
Mel, we are so excited for you to meet your baby girl! We wish you all the luck in the world and we can’t wait for a visit from the new arrival very soon. 💖

There’s no better time to book your smear test.

We offer appointments during the week and weekends to make it easier for you to attend.

We also have monthly DROP IN Clinics 1st Monday each month 4.30-7.30pm. No appointment needed!!

Bowel cancer screening in England is improving. Find out how ⬆️

FIT kits, sent to everyone aged between 50 and 74, will now checked at a lower threshold. This means smaller amounts of blood in poo samples can be spotted — helping to find signs of cancer earlier, treatment can be more successful.

It’s the same simple test, just better at picking things up even earlier. Most people who use their kit won’t need further tests.

When your kit arrives, put it by the loo. Don’t put it off.

🚨PATIENT UPDATE:A VERY IMPORTANT PIGGY

We had a bit of a celebrity sighting at the surgery today, here is Mr Piggy on Poolstock Lane just leaving the surgery after his annual health check with our nursing team.

We are pleased to report he was on his best behavior (though he did try to swap his urine sample for a bucket of acorns). 🐷🩺

He’s had his blood pressure taken, his trotters checked, and his snout inspected, and he’s now trot-trotting home with a clean bill of health. He even managed to resist the "pork scratchings" joke from the GP... barely.
