At Bridgewater, the people behind the work are so important, so we’ve decided that they should be front of stage!

One of our most successful offices is run by the amazing Diane Elbert-Morgan, who’s amazing work supporting our clients across Bolton has seen her grow year on year, bringing joy and great care standards across the whole city.

Diane is a true inspiration for us, and a worthy way to kick off showing you the real people behind the incredible work we do.

When one of your loved ones is affected by Dementia, it can be really hard to process and manage - but it’s not impossible and we’re here to help.

We’ve got some great top tips on how to help manage your communication - check them out below;

Be calm and clear

Speak slowly, try to use short sentences, and gently redirect any mis-steps - a calm tone often matters more than the words themselves!

Create routines

Daily structure can really help to reduce anxiety, so keep meals, medication, activities, and bedtime at familiar times to keep your loved one feeling safe.

Keep it simple

Try and simplify their environment - limit clutter, keep pathways clear, use labels or signs, and reduce loud noises to help them to feel relaxed and at ease.

Welcome, Autumn 🍁

Today marks the first day of autumn and the autumn equinox, when day and night are nearly equal in length. As the days grow shorter and cooler the season naturally shifts, inviting changes both outside and within our daily lives.

For many of our clients, this seasonal change can bring shifts in mood, energy levels, and health. Cooler weather and dimmer days may affect mobility, mood, and overall wellbeing.

At Bridgewater Home Care, we're here to support our clients through this time. Our dedicated Care Specialists provide extra companionship, help maintain daily routines, and assist with staying active indoors and outdoors, when safe. We also ensure homes are cosy and safe as the temperature drops. 🏠🌡️

This week the team at Bridgewater Home Care Watford took their clients for a very musical day out, at Say It With A Smile's Music Club!

It's so wonderful to see the positive impact music and dancing can have on their clients, and fills us with pride to see so may happy smiling faces.

It's moments like this that truly enhance an individual's quality of life, engaging with others in the local community and spending quality time with their care team, all whilst having fun!
