We’re so thankful for the shoutout from Wigan & Leigh Hospice and are honoured to be donating to them this year for our Be a Santa campaign!

December is here, the month full of Christmas cheer and goodwill – and what better way to start this month than with a brand new Thank you Thursday!

Let’s thank some of our incredible supporters.

⭐ Thank you to the team at Total Fitness for holding an open weekend where they raised money for the hospice through a raffle and other fundraising activities! It’s been an honour to be their charity of the year for 2025, and we can’t thank them all enough for their support. Thank you all.

⭐ Thank you to fundraiser Simon for his brilliant efforts to fundraise for us by running dressed as Elvis! He took it one step further after his run and had custard thrown at him (a particularly difficult challenge for Simon, as he doesn’t like custard!). Thank you so much to Simon for his brilliantly creative fundraising, raising over £1,400 so far in memory of his dear friend Si.

⭐ Thank you to everyone at Home Instead Wigan and Home Instead Leigh for collecting hundreds of gifts for the hospice in local supermarkets recently. We are so grateful for this amazing act of kindness – thank you so much to everyone involved.

⭐ Thank you to the staff at Golden Days Garden Centre - Wigan Branch for donating a new indoor Christmas tree for our hospice reception area. This tree is used to display our beautiful LFAL dedication baubles, written by hospice supporters. The tree should have cost £300, but was donated free of charge and we are so grateful and thankful to everyone involved.

⭐ Thank you to Beth and her family and friends for holding a special tapas night to raise money for the hospice through a raffle and tombola, raising £650 in total. This is such a fantastic way to fundraise – thank you so much to you all.

⭐ Thank you to Joe and the team at BJ Skip Hire Wigan Ltd for donating a skip for the hospice to use. We are so grateful for their continued generosity and support – thank you all.

Our next Companion Café is coming up on Thursday 4th December at Sunshine House. Unfortunately, due to illness, our guest speaker from Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre is no longer able to attend — but don’t worry, we still have a lovely session planned!

Expect quizzes, bingo, chats, and plenty of refreshments in a warm and welcoming space.
If you support an older relative, neighbour, or loved one, this session is still very much for you.

We are absolutely amazed by the generous donations from the residents of Hindley and beyond!

the past 2 days we have been collecting gifts at Tesco in Hindley we have raised overall over 200 gifts!!!

These donations will be going to such a good cause for Wigan & Leigh Hospice and we are continuing the momentum with kind donations across the wigan area!

A massive big thank you to Diane and the team at Tesco Hindley for their hospitality and generous support in helping us achieve our goal.

If you missed us then don't worry! we will be still collecting presents into December. You can drop off presents at one of our collection points or at our Office in the Wigan Investment Centre.
