Have you had your NHS bowel cancer screening test yet?

If you’re between 50-74 and registered with a GP you will automatically be sent your screening kit through the post every two years.

It’s easy to do, and you can complete it yourself in the privacy of your own bathroom. If you think you’re eligible and haven’t had a kit sent to you, you can call the bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 6060.

Bowel cancer screening finds bowel cancer before you’ve noticed any symptoms, which means it’s much easier to treat.

The chances of developing prostate cancer are higher for men or people with a prostate who are:

• black

• have Jewish heritage

• or have a family history of prostate, breast or ovarian cancer.

If you fall into one of these groups you should speak to your GP to discuss your risk. You may also decide to ask for a PSA test.

Meningitis B Update – Kumar Family Practice
We know recent reports about meningitis B in Kent may be worrying.
We are currently offering the MenB vaccine according to the NHS routine childhood schedule (8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 1 year). There is no current guidance to provide additional vaccinations outside of this programme.
We want to reassure our patients that there are no confirmed cases in the North West at this time.
We will keep you updated if any national guidance changes.

Thank you
