**** I am looking for people who want to join in with this community engagement project in the New Year******

Dates are..
Saturday 3rd Jan 1pm
Monday 5th Jan 11am

I am pleased to announce that The Waite Room CIC has been awarded a small Micro-Grant Scheme funding to support creative community engagement activities focused on mental health and wellbeing promotion and prevention across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

As part of the 2026 Director of Public Health Report, 'Lets Talk Cornwall' are inviting VCSE organisations to help us capture the lived experiences of children, adults, and older adults through innovative and inclusive engagement methods. These insights will directly inform the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Su***de Prevention Strategy and future public health priorities.

The Waite Room CIC will be leading a series of short nature walks which will invite conversation and address questions surrounding mental health and wellbeing.
I am looking for people of the local community to engage in this project and come together in a small grpup led by myself in the New Year.

Please comment or DM me if you would like to join a nature walk and meet for coffee and conversation after.

Creating something new in the pause between Christmas and New Year.

Each Scarf section is an individual entity that forms part of the whole and a chance for a fresh start.

This one is whispering stories of reflection, growth and bravery born out of quiet and stillness.

It is waiting to take a leap into 2026, but isn't quite ready yet.

It has a restlessness and potential for recklessness too.

What shall we call it?

Last time I was here I accidentally dropped my Little Magic Ducks of Happiness and their friends. When I gathered them up, I noticed one escaped ladybird who looked so comfortable that I left her for someone else to find. She's now gone and I'm hoping that she's brought joy to someone else. 🐞😍

"This is Wintering. It is the courage to stare down the worst parts of our experience and commit to healing them the best we can." ~ Katherine May

MAGIC AND MIRACLES has just been completed through conversations with people who are daring to close the door on situations that are draining their life-force energy and to do whatever they need to recover.

This requires a great deal of strength and trust in ourselves and the process of life.

It often results in scorn and pressure from others to do what's expected, rather than what we know in our hearts is best for us and the world in the long term.

All too frequently it happens when we've reached breaking point after trying for far too long to meet unrealistic expectations.

We need time and space to recover, we need to "hibernate" and work out how to make the changes that will restore and sustain our energy.

A lot of the people I talk to are highly sensitive, which is a beautiful gift, but it requires a lot of care and our demanding, fast-paced life leads to burn-out.

We recognise that moving with the natural seasons of the year and our own natural rhythms could stop this burn-out from happening.

Many of us feel shame because we have failed to cope. However, it is very comforting to discover that we are not alone and there is great strength and support in the unity we are creating as we speak out.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their precious story with me.💜
