Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️

Valentine’s Day affirmations of love are the perfect way to boost someone’s confidence and show them they're loved for their unique personality and characteristics.

You can write affirmations for yourself and others by simply cutting out a heart shape piece of paper, writing a message and either passing it on or keeping it for yourself.

Share the love today, and every day 💗

Our East Riding Mental Health Support Team joined the Tigers Trust last week to deliver a workshop on mental health and wellbeing.

The team visited the Premier League Regional Girls Football event with Year 5 and 6 children, with girls coming across from all over the country to compete.

Amy, Reuben and Beth delivered a presentation with the children about emotions and importance of talking to others, followed by an activity where young people identified a positive affirmation about themselves or something they can say to others and made a display wall.

Over the last few months, our East Riding MHST Team 1 have had the pleasure of hosting a series of Stay & Connect events at Inmans Primary, Sproatley Primary, Patrington Primary and Burton Pidsea Primary Schools.

These sessions are designed to help strengthen the bond between parents carers and their children through fun mindful activities while introducing the importance of active listening.

Each Stay & Connect session lasts around 1 hour and 15 minutes with separate activities for KS1 and KS2. Families take part in crafts, games and reflective moments that support communication, connection and quality time together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

📸 We have loved capturing special moments from across all four events.

Here’s what some of our attending parents and carers had to say:
💬 “I enjoyed quality time with my daughter and loved doing the activities together.”

💬 “This was an enjoyable and creative session. I would come again. The listening game was interactive and the crafts were good conversation starters. Thank you.”

💬 “Very good, I enjoyed it. Lovely atmosphere. Nice to see the children enjoying it. Staff were brilliant.”

Children at Burton Pidsea Primary School have been working with our East Riding Mental Health Support Team in a workshop called 'My Inside Sparkle,' which is available for all primary schools in the area.

The aim of the workshop is for children to understand what self-worth means and to celebrate their strengths and what makes them special.

The children created a Super Self-Shield, which can help them feel confident, a reminder that they are special, smart and important, no matter what.

A new year doesn't have to mean a 'new you'.

In a world where we’re constantly told to be better and do more, the idea of a "new year, new you" can be problematic. The new year can be a time to reflect on what's good in your life and to set realistic goals.

Why not try the 5 ways to wellbeing as a starting point for making positives changes in the new year? Whatever you chose to do make it SMART!

SMART goals are a tool for making new year's resolutions that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Here are some tips for making SMART resolutions:
🌟 Start small: Big goals can be overwhelming and hard to keep track of.
✨ Write down your goals: Writing down your goals helps you remember them and makes your brain flag them as important.
🌟 Find an accountability partner: Ask a friend to partner with you to keep you motivated.
✨ Have a plan: Think about what you'll need to keep to your new habits.
🌟 Don't expect perfection: Progress is better than perfection.
✨ Keep a journal: Write about your successes and struggles, and the reasons why you are working toward your goal.
🌟 Be consistent and compassionate: These are key to turning resolutions into lasting habits.

REMEMBER: Growth takes time and you're blooming everyday.

Let's talk about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) 🌧️❄️

Feeling extra blah as the days get shorter? You’re not alone. SAD is real, and it’s more common than you might think. It’s a type of low triggered by seasonal changes, especially in fall and winter.

You’re not lazy. You’re not “just in a mood.” Your feelings are valid, and help is available.

Drop a ❤️ if you’re taking care of your mental health this season. Share this post to spread awareness.
