Karen is an experienced Yoga Teacher and practitioner who has taught group classes and private tuition across London since 2006. She relocated to Eastbourne from London in the summer of 2014. Karen Bonnici has been practicing and studying yoga since 1999 and has been teaching Yoga since 2006. Her practice and study has encompassed Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Yoga approaches. Her extensive studies and training in the UK and India have seen her work in depth with Gingi Lee, John Scott and Rolf & Marci Naujokat, Julie Martin, Emil Wendle, Melanie Cooper & Claire Missingham. Karen has also studied with David Swenson, Danny Paradise, Dena Kingsberg and Eileen Gauthier

Karen has a certified qualification through Yoga Alliance International and is a Registered Senior Yoga Teacher. Karen teaches with warmth, energy, compassion and love, her classes are a dynamic flowing style of yoga harmonising breath and movement to give strength and grace. Students will find her approach to the practice of yoga both challenging and rewarding. Karen strives to understand the individual needs of each of her students and is passionate about the healing power of yoga, something she has experienced herself in her recovery from a childhood back injury. Karen's classes are full of joy which comes from her generosity as a teacher and her natural approach to teach from the heart.

As the year draws to a close and life speeds up, it’s the perfect time to pause, breathe, and reconnect. ✨

Join us for our next block of yoga classes set in the beautiful surroundings of the Emma Mason Gallery.

This term’s classes take place amidst Charles Shearer’s new collagraph prints, commissioned to illustrate Herne the Hunter by Edmund Newel. The artwork’s rich textures and mythic energy provide a stunning backdrop for mindful movement and grounding practice.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful, sun-filled summer and have taken time to rest, explore, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

As the seasons begin to shift, it’s the perfect moment to gently return to the practices that ground and nourish us. I’m excited to let you know that our next block of Hatha Flow Yoga classes that starts on the 2nd September 2025, and I can’t wait to welcome you back to the mat.

Whether your summer has been active or restful, coming back to yoga is a beautiful way to reset - physically, mentally, and emotionally. Let’s re-establish healthy routines, prioritise our wellbeing, and support each other in moving mindfully into the months ahead.

Classes are held every Tuesday from 6.15pm to 7.15pm at Emma Mason Gallery from the 2nd September to the 14th October.

Biog

Karen is a Registered Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance having taught over 5000 classes since 2006. Karen taught full time in schools, therapy rooms and clinics across London as well as corporate classes in the City - clients including BBC, British Airways, MoD & Farrer and Co and private tuition to a wide range of high profile people in the media until she relocated to Eastbourne in the summer of 2014 where she continued to teach part time. Karen has been practicing and studying yoga since 1999 and has been teaching Yoga since 2006. Her practice and study has encompassed Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Yoga approaches.
