The James Doyle eye examination offers rigorous screening, for both NHS and private patients.

Using our extensive suite of diagnostic and consulting equipment, we check your eyes from inside out, to ensure you have the best achievable vision and that you and your eyes are healthy. Free NHS eye tests are available to all diabetic patients, the over 60‘s, students under 19, glaucoma sufferers, the over 40’s with close family relations with glaucoma Please note we are fully accredited by East Cheshire NHS Trust to provide Diabetic Retinopathy Screening. Our eye exam is so thorough, that you’ll need to allow a little extra time – but we make no apologies for that. Many conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and other more serious diseases can be diagnosed through your eyes, that’s why we may recommend the use of our state of the art digital retinal imaging camera to examine the back of your eyes. This aids diagnosis of ocular conditions such as diabetes, macular degeneration, cataracts and dry eyes. Visual fields tests and eye pressure tests are carried out as standard, so the symptomless vision changes in early glaucoma are identified. Additionally laser scanning tomography can reveal the most subtle changes, for those with a family history of glaucoma. Irlens syndrome, visual stress and dyslexia are managed in our Vision & Learning Clinic using the Intuitive Colorimeter and examinations for more complex prescriptions are also available. Our friendly, empathetic team is led by Mr Doyle, who has 30-years of experience, so you can be assured that an eye test for you, your children or other family member will be sensitively handled and scrupulously accurate.
