🎉 30 Years of TSA – Celebrating Three Decades of Leadership, Growth and Impact 🎉

We’re delighted to celebrate a major milestone this year — the 30th anniversary of the TEC Services Association (TSA)! This isn’t just three decades of history; it’s three decades of progress, raising standards, and transforming lives through Technology Enabled Care (TEC).

Watch our video celebrating 30 years of TSA - https://youtu.be/YKKkd2pvYjY

From our beginnings in 1995 as a small association of community alarm providers, TSA has grown into Europe’s largest TEC network. Through our assurance partner, TEC Quality, we are recognised nationally as the Standards Body for the sector, an influential voice in Government, and an international partner shaping how technology empowers people across the globe.

Over the years, TSA has:
✅ Rebranded and evolved our mission — adopting the name TSA in 2015 with the strapline “The Voice of Technology Enabled Care”.
✅ Taken a leading role in the UK’s analogue-to-digital telephony transition for TEC since 2017.
✅ Expanded nationally and internationally, collaborating with Government, the NHS, Local Authorities, and international partners.
✅ Grown our annual conference into a major global TEC event, attracting thousands of attendees.

As we celebrate our past, we’re equally excited for the future. Our 30th year is a recommitment to innovation, partnership, and impact.

Discover more about TSA’s journey, achievements, and vision for the future on our special anniversary page - https://www.tsa-voice.org.uk/about-tsa/tsa/30-years-of-tsa/

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the TSA community, whether you’ve been with us for years or are just getting involved, we can’t wait to continue this journey together.

✨ Membership Round Up ✨

It’s been a brilliant few weeks across the TSA community, filled with connection, collaboration, and inspiring conversations. Here’s a look at what’s been happening...

📢 Stratford-upon-Avon – Medequip Community Equipment Service Best Practice & Innovation Forum

“A fantastic opportunity to see our TSA members and make new connections. It was fantastic to see the collaboration happening between 'competitors' and the willingness to achieve interoperability for the benefit of the sector. ” - Gemma Oliver, Membership Executive

🏡 Leeds – Northern Housing Consortium Summit

"It was amazing to see so many colleagues from housing associations across the region, and the day was filled with rich discussion, new connections, and genuinely inspiring conversations. A particular highlight was the session led by Noel Sharpe, featuring insightful contributions from Warren Heppolette, Shantelle Million-Lawson, and Debra Edwards. Their discussion on the digitisation of schemes was both timely and important—especially with fewer than 20% of schemes currently prepared for the analogue-to-digital switchover scheduled for January 2027." - Henry Lockett, Membership and Workforce Engagement Officer

🤝Newcastle – Digitally Enabled Lives: Building Connected Communities and Collaborative Futures

"Our final regional event of the year in our new home The Catalyst in Newcastle was, in my opinion our strongest one yet. The whole day was a shining example of how to build the future of TEC by bringing together Health, Housing and Social Care, underpinned always by the need to include, welcome and celebrate people with lived experience on every step of the journey. Lauren Matthewson from Access your Life was the highlight of a fantastic day, and I am so looking forward to 2026 and watching the sector evolve with a new drive and passion. " - Charlotte Downing, Membership Engagement Manager

💚 What our members say:

“We thoroughly enjoyed attending your Digitally Enabled Lives event at The Catalyst. It was extremely well run, packed with interesting exhibitors and very informative speakers. We look forward to joining your next event!” – Locaite

Yesterday our COO, Shantelle Million-Lawson was invited by Policy Connect to attend the Disability Technology Parliamentary Breakfast Reception hosted by Steve Darling MP on behalf of The Royal Society and Policy Connect.

The event brought together people with lived experience policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to explore how technology can better serve people with disabilities, ensuring inclusion and accessibility are at the heart of digital innovation.

Key Takeaways from the Day:

Data for Insight: National statistics bodies should shift toward collecting data on functional challenges and limitations rather than solely focusing on disability identity. This would provide a richer, more accurate understanding of people’s lived experiences and support more informed policymaking.

Smartphones as Assistive Tech: Governments should recognise smartphones as vital assistive technologies that empower independence and participation.

Co-Design Matters: Disabled people must be meaningfully involved in designing and developing digital products and services from the outset.

Mind the Social Impact: Service providers should carefully consider the social impact when replacing analogue services with digital alternatives.

Equip for the Future: Governments should ensure disabled people and carers of all ages have the skills and resources to effectively use current and future digital assistive technologies.

In the afternoon she also had the opportunity to drop in to 'Mind the Gap: Tackling Digital Exclusion board game' co-hosted by Steve Darling MP and the Centre for Care, and led by Professor Kate Hamblin from the The University of Sheffield the game brought to life peoples experiences of digital exclusion prompting rich discussion on inclusion, accessibility, and innovation.

✨ Let’s keep people In Control, In Touch, Safe and Well ✨

The campaign is all about shifting the focus of Technology Enabled Care (TEC) from devices to the real-life impact on people’s daily lives.

It’s the stories and the people that matter. We’re changing the narrative to show how TEC helps individuals live gloriously ordinary lives, independently, safely, and connected to the world around them.

Let’s work together to change the conversation and highlight how TEC enables people to thrive.

We have created a suite of free, downloadable resources, including videos, posters, social media assets, and a language guide, all designed to help you communicate the benefits of TEC effectively. These materials are available for anyone to use, adapt, and share.
