🌟 Meet one of the kind hearts behind The Happy Body Project: Dr Jemma Boyd.

Beyond her work with us, Jemma generously volunteers for Bedfordshire Open Door (BOD) - providing free, confidential counselling to young people aged 13–25 across Bedfordshire.

💚 Jemma believes deeply in creating safe, welcoming spaces for young people to feel heard, supported and understood. Through BOD, she helps transform lives - offering understanding and hope when it matters most.

🎉 Next year, BOD celebrates its 30-year milestone! To mark the occasion they’ve launched their “30 for 30” fundraising campaign, aiming to raise £30,000 so they can continue delivering vital mental health support.

✨ One of the highlights: a celebratory Charity Ball on 6th February 2026 at The Swan Hotel in Bedford. Expect a three-course meal, live music, a silent auction and more - a chance to party with purpose.

✨ Lakhbir Kaur - works from a person-centred counselling model with a strong conviction that you are the expert in your own life. She provides an empathetic, honest, and deeply respectful space to explore your thoughts and emotions.

✨ Katherine Shircore - offers healing through Reiki, Sound Bowl therapy, and Rahanni Celestial Healing. Her presence is deeply grounding and warm, and she holds space for transformation through stillness and the pulsing energy of sound.

✨ Lorraine Cascella, MBACP - offers a warm, non-judgmental space rooted in person-centred therapy, combined with CBT for those who prefer a more structured approach. With her own journey of resilience (she rebuilt her life after surviving domestic abuse), she deeply understands trauma, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, and more.

✨ Alexsandra Russo - brings a compassionate, genuinely person-centred approach to her counselling work, offering a safe and supportive environment for self-exploration and growth.

Sound Therapy Spotlight ✨

Did you know that just 20 minutes of sound therapy can help lower your heart rate, soothe anxiety, and lift your mood? 😘

At The Happy Body Project, we offer two beautiful sound-based practices: sound baths and sound massage. They complement each other, but work with the body in slightly different ways.

Sound Baths

You’ll be immersed in gentle tones from Tibetan or crystal bowls, allowing calming vibrations to flow through your energy field. This meditative experience supports your nervous system to slow down, settle busy thoughts, and create space for emotional release. Many people leave feeling clearer, lighter, and deeply rested 🫶

Sound Massage

Here, the bowls are placed on or around the body, and the vibrations travel through muscles, tissues, and cells. This hands-on resonance helps ease physical tension, support circulation, and encourage the body’s natural healing response. It’s especially supportive if you feel stuck in “fight or flight” or hold stress in your body.

Both practices guide you back to balance and help the body remember its natural rhythm of ease ✨
