With the festive period drawing closer and Christmas just around the corner, this is a busy time for many people. The surgery and the team are working hard but the demand on GP services increases drastically during this time of year. To help you get the right care you need, please consider the various services that you can reach out to this time of year for help, from self caing at home for common illnesses to speaking to a pharmacist for advice and treatment for minor illnesses. Choosing well can help you get to the right care faster.

⚠️ Surgery Notice of Upcoming Internet Outage ⚠️

Please be aware that on the morning of Friday 5th December, we are having essential work done on our internet networks at the Quarter Jack Surgery.

The engineers have advised this will result in disruption to services and the surgery not having access to our IT and phone systems during periods of the morning.

We will try to keep this disruption to a minimum but please be aware whilst this work is being undertaken we may not be able to answer patient phone calls.

On the day of this work, we will post patient updates on this page, so please keep tuned for the latest news.

❓ NHS App problems? We are here to help!❓

We are still running our IT Helpdesk appointments so if you are struggling signing up for NHS App, please contact our friendly reception team and ask for an IT Helpdesk appointment. Please bring your mobile device so we can assist you as much as possible!

We can also assist with SystmOnline queries or explain how to submit eConsult's during these sessions if you would like further face to face help or information.

Alternatively, in addition to our posts this week, further help and information can be found on the NHS App support page: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/nhs-app-help-and-support/

💊 Repeat Prescriptions on the NHS App 💊

Today we want to show you how easy it is to order your repeat prescriptions on the NHS App. The video below shows you the whole request process (and more!) in under a minute. It really is that simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hsk_grMPHE&t=48s

Please note: the NHS App will only display your repeat medication that is allowed to be requested at that time. If your medications are not visible, it is likely they are not due yet or they may be needing to be reviewed by a GP first.

If you need to talk to us about a prescription issue, we have a dedicated Prescribing Line that you can access by calling the surgery (and selecting option 2) during the following times:
Monday to Thursday: 9am - 11am and 2pm - 4pm.
Friday: 9am - 11am.

PLEASE NOTE - WE CAN NO LONGER TAKE PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS OVER THE PHONE OR VIA EMAIL.

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

💙 NHS App Information Week 💙

This week we will be promoting the NHS App. Each day we will focus on a different area of the NHS App that might be useful to you.

Today we are providing a simple introduction to the NHS App and how you can navigate once you are logged in. Please watch this video that demonstrates the basics what is available to you:

If you have not done so already, you can download and get setup on the NHS App by following these steps:

1. Download the NHS App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. Open the app and select Create an account or Log in if you already have an NHS account.
3. Enter your email address and create a secure password.
4. Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your email inbox.
5. Provide your NHS number or other personal details (e.g., name, date of birth, postcode) to link your account to your NHS records.
6. Prove your identity by uploading a photo of your ID (e.g., passport, driving license) and recording a short video or answering security questions. Alternatively, if you have no Photo ID, please contact us requesting your NHS App no photo ID linkage information.
7. Wait for your identity to be verified. This may take a few hours or up to 24 hours.
8. Once verified, log in to the app using your email and password to access NHS services.
