Ho-ho-ho! What's better than a trip to the garden centre? A trip to the garden centre during the sparkliest, jolliest time of the year!
​Our hearts are bursting with festive cheer after our delightful recent outing to Haskins Garden Centre! The residents were absolutely enchanted by the dazzling displays of decorations it felt like stepping into Santa's Grotto! And, of course, no Haskins trip is complete without mentioning those legendary, melt-in-your-mouth scones they truly are out of this world!
​Last week, our wonderful residents enjoyed this festive jaunt, and while some may have gotten just a little bit carried away with their shopping bags, everyone chose a truly gorgeous new decoration. These precious trinkets are now hanging proudly on our Christmas tree here at Mile Oak, adding an extra sparkle of love!
​Sometimes, we think the 'grandest' things in life are what make us happiest. But the simplest pleasures, like sharing a perfectly buttered scone and choosing a new bauble, are the most magical! A familiar outing like this boosts all the endorphins, fills the air with laughter, and proves that the greatest joy is found in making new, wonderful memories together.

We had a wonderful afternoon with Swinging Sinatra today. Lots of energy, serenading our lovely residents thoroughly enjoyed throughout the home! Looking forward to his return in December.

We had the lovely Moo Music group visit Mile Oak yesterday. And what a lovely lively group it was.

Our residents really love to meet the mums and their little ones and in such a small time to see the connections and smiles shared between the different generations always leaves us feeling warm inside. Especially with this cold weather.

We love to open our home to community groups where both benefit from social stimulation and this is certainly our favourite. .

Our November Newsletter is out, we have had a lovely October and we are very much looking forward to December to get our decorations out and celebrate the events we have coming up. The witches have flown on their broomsticks so fast,
And the spooky night of Halloween is past.
The plastic white ghosts are now tucked in a drawer,
We won't need to fear them until next year, or more!
​But do not despair that the trick-or-treat stops,
For November is here with its cocoa and drops.
The autumn air chills, but we don't have to roam,
Just snuggle up warm in our lovely rest home.
​So let the wind howl, and the rain start to fall,
Cosy nights at Mile Oak are best of them all!
With blankets and books and a chatter or two,
We’re ready for winter, and happy, too!
