Celebrations of another birthday today. Our wonderful Sheila, the lady with the northern charm, who brightens our day always with her humour and always happy to see a friendly face. Sheila had been entertained by a serenade song and dance from the home manager to a Tom Jones classic, much to her releif when it finished. To celebrations organised by Kate, food by the chef Matt, cake made by Natalia and as always laughter joy and support by the amazing care team we have too. Sheila has truly had a wonderful day celebrating her and everything we love about her!

It was wine o'clock this morning 11am to be precise. We celebrated our lovely Olive's 98th Birthday.
Our activities coordinator Kate brought the celebrations to her, joined with her family and fellow resident friend Violet.
For the rest of our residents they all came together to sing their hearts out to a cheerful happy birthday that could be heard from the garden to Olives room. A lovely cake and treats for residents and carers made by daughter.

🐹 A Morning of Cuddles at Mile Oak! 🐹
​We had some very special visitors today! A huge thank you to Blandford Animal Sanctuary for bringing along their wonderful furry friends to spend time with us.
​Our residents were treated to some serious "cuteness overload" with a visit from several sweet, cuddly, and incredibly photogenic guinea pigs. 📸✨
​It was heart-warming to hear the stories of these little ones all of them are rescue guinea pigs who have been saved, nurtured, and loved by the amazing team at the sanctuary. There is nothing quite like the squeak of a happy guinea pig to brighten everyone's day!
​Thank you to Blandford Animal Sanctuary for the vital work you do and for sharing the love today. 💚

You’ve been mothers and daughters and bosses and brides,
And you still take the Bingo in glorious strides.
Whether rocking a perm or a stylish silk scarf,

With Valentines day coming up it can bring up happy and also sad memories. Memories of loved ones lost in our residents lives.

So we decided to take a different approach to celebrate and promote self love and to make our residents feel cared for and important.

We spent this morning with our residents prosecco, strawberries, cupcakes, nail care and Polish, hair tonged and styled, with foot massages.

Our focus was to enjoy some quality time together boosting self esteem

We have been experiencing some intermittent technical difficulties with our phones and Internet. So calling the home may work at times and not at other times, and a delay in responding to emails.
We have logged this and awaiting to be reconnected.

Do not worry our staff are still fully functioning and it hasnt interfered or stopped the kettle and bakes of cakes for all of our lovely residents.

We will keep you in the loop should this continue with no fix
