Want a stronger swing? 🏌️

Strong glutes drive rotation.
A stable core transfers power.
A mobile upper back allows a smooth follow through.

If one area is weak, your joints absorb more stress.
Build the engine first and performance follows 💪

Struggling with weakness or lack of mobility? Get in touch with our team of physiotherapists to see how they can help you maximise your movement and therefore your game play.

Stretching your back or neck may feel helpful temporarily, but if the muscles supporting your spine are tight and therefore reduced endurance, discomfort often returns.

Posture relies on strength and endurance, particularly in your core and upper back. Without first releasing areas of tightness, then strengthening these areas, your body defaults to old habits.

A balanced approach combining mobility and targeted strength produces longer lasting results.

If stretching alone has not solved the issue, get in touch with our team of physiotherapists to see how they can help you today.

Did you know your head weighs around 10 to 12 pounds?

When it shifts slightly forward during desk work, the stress on your neck and upper back increases significantly.
Now combine that with weekend gardening, bending over flower beds and lifting heavy compost bags. It is no surprise many people notice neck tightness and lower back stiffness this time of year.

Small posture adjustments, massage and targeted strength work can dramatically reduce strain.

If you are feeling more tension as spring activity increases, it may be time for a reset!

Get in touch with our team of physiotherapists today to see how they can help you move through the season feeling supported and comfortable.

I can’t recommend Rachael Hands On Physiotherapy in Wimborne highly enough. My cockapoo Teddy developed a skip in his step, and a friend suggested I take him here. It turned out to be one of the best recommendations we’ve had. From the very first visit, the care, knowledge, and attention Teddy received were fantastic. The difference it has made for him is incredible, his movement has improved so much, and he’s clearly more comfortable and happy. What I love most is how much Teddy enjoys going. Instead of the usual “uh-oh, where are we?” look dogs give at appointments, he’s always excited to be there, which says everything about how well he’s treated.I am so grateful for the help Teddy has received and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rachel at Hands On Physiotherapy to anyone whose dog needs a little extra support.

𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: Skiing and snowboarding are all about leg strength.
𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Strong legs matter - but control comes from a number of areas; including your core, hips, and balance system.

Without stability through your trunk and hips, your legs work harder than they should, increasing fatigue and injury risk. Snow sports demand coordinated, full-body movement.

Training balance, rotational strength, and core control helps you stay centred, react faster, and ski with confidence. Snow-ready strength means preparing your whole body - not just your quads 💪

Cold weather can make knee stiffness feel worse, especially first thing in the morning. Try warming up with seated leg extensions, heel slides, or slow marching in place.

These gentle movements boost circulation and help lubricate your knee joints without pressure. Many patients tell us these simple exercises make a huge difference in how they feel throughout the day.

If knee stiffness is slowing you down, Hands on Physiotherapy can help with personalised tips and support. Winter doesn’t have to hold you back 💪
