Have the best fire over Christmas!
With our kiln dried hardwood logs.

Our logging yard just outside Wincanton, will be open Christmas Eve. 8am to 7pm.

Many supermarkets sell silver birch logs, which is a lower quality hardwood, we always sell higher quality (harder) timber species.

Our log are all ash (hardwood) timber species.
Our kindling is all scotch pine (softwood) timber species.

Logs are cut to 10 inch lengths, and split to an average of 5 inch diameter.

We will only be accepting cash. Due to our card machine recently stoped working, which is being replaced in January.

Take the left down beech lane just before the A303 underpast.

How much hardwood firewood weight are you actually getting delivered from various suppliers?
I have spoken to and seen so many log suppliers outright lying on facebook marketplace and elsewhere about how much their loads of logs weigh, i'd like to help you spot them out.
Some suppliers might say their pickup load, or standard builders dumpy bag of logs are a ton in weight, and are properly dried hardwood. This is just not true by a long way, unless perhaps it is soaking wet African iron wood, which of course doesn't grow over here.
Everything I am referring to are hardwood logs (ash, beach and oak are most common, avoid birch as these burn to quickly.
Going by weight is a very bad way to know how much wood you are getting, always go by volume in cubic meters, 1 cubic meter is 1 x 1 x 1 meter in dimensions.
wet logs are 3 times heavier than properly dried logs (16-20% moisture). logs need to be under 20% average moisture content to burn properly.

Vehicle payload area varies from make to make and vehicle type. so please do your own homework when ordering from someone as to their specific delivery vehicle.

Dumpy bags, particularly vented ones such as we use, stretch out more when filled with logs, meaning you are getting more volume.

Please bare in mind, log loads and weights will always vary slightly, as no 2 logs are exactly the same.

All hardwood ash timber species. extracted from a firewood processing machine. Ours is a chainsaw type so the sawdust shavings are larger and less dusty than other cutting types like circular saw processors.
