International Women’s Day (celebrated every year on 8th March) recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world, while also highlighting the importance of equality and empowerment.

At our clinic, we’re proud to have a team of women who not only excel in their fields but who also treat every patient with respect, empathy and understanding.

✨ Vic – our Practice Manager and receptionist – keeps everything running smoothly and ensures both patients and the team feel supported every day.
✨ Alison – Clinic Proprietor and Chiropractor – whose knowledge, dedication and leadership are at the heart of the clinic.
✨ Viviane – specialising in Acupuncture, Cupping and Moxibustion – bringing traditional healing approaches and deep expertise to patient care.
✨ Millie – our Neurological Physiotherapist – supporting patients with specialist knowledge, patience and encouragement.
✨ Hannah – providing Sports Massage and Lymphatic Drainage – helping patients recover, move better and feel their best.
✨ Tanya – Massage Therapist – offering skilled hands and thoughtful care that makes a real difference to people’s wellbeing.
✨ Kirsty – our l Receptionist and Social Media lead – the friendly face and voice many patients first meet, alongside Vic when they contact the clinic.
✨ Ruby – our fantastic Volunteer helping with holiday and Saturday cover – always ready to lend a hand and support the team.

Every one of these women is incredibly knowledgeable in their field, thoughtful about the needs of others, and committed to providing the best possible care.

What makes this team truly special is the respect they show not only to every patient who walks through the door, but also to each other. 💙

We’re so grateful for this brilliant team and proud to celebrate them today.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing women in our clinic and our community. 🌷

This morning Alison and Kirsty enjoyed a wonderful pre-celebration of International Women's Day at the Royal Bath & West Showground. 🌸

It was such an enjoyable and inspiring event, bringing together women from across the community to share experiences, ideas and encouragement.

The morning began with a warm welcome and introduction from Rebecca Pow, followed by a fantastic lineup of speakers who shared their journeys, insights and practical tips to take away:

✨ Janet Montgomery – High Sheriff of Somerset
✨ Lisa Agosta – Fuss Free Foodie
✨ Alice Fox-Pitt – Fox-Pitt Eventing
✨ Tessa Armstrong – Voices for Life
✨ Alexia Robinson – Love British Food

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” was a powerful reminder that by sharing knowledge, supporting others and contributing to our communities, we all grow stronger together.

It was truly inspiring to hear everyone’s stories and the passion behind the work they do.
A lovely morning celebrating women, community and inspiration ahead of International Women’s Day. 💙

Endometriosis Awareness Month!
Painful periods are not something you should just “push through.”
If your cycle includes:
🔴 Severe cramping that stops you working or socialising
🔴 Heavy bleeding or passing clots
🔴 Periods lasting longer than 7 days
🔴 Pain that radiates into your back, hips or legs
🔴 Pain during intimacy
🔴 Bloating that makes you look months pregnant (“endo belly”)
🔴 Exhaustion around your cycle
🔴 Digestive flare-ups before or during your period

You are not being dramatic. And you are not alone.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, yet many wait years for diagnosis.
Acupuncture can help by reducing inflammation, improving pelvic circulation, calming the nervous system and supporting hormonal balance — helping to reduce pain intensity and regulate cycles over time.
During Endometriosis Awareness Month, I’m offering £5 off each consultation for women with a confirmed diagnosis experiencing painful periods at the Wincanton Chiropractic.

If this sounds familiar, I welcome you to book a consultation to discuss whether acupuncture may support you. Please contact the clinic to book in with Viviane on 01963 32986.

As we wrap up February and National Heart Month, the team at Wincanton Chiropractic Clinic want to share one final tip for keeping your heart healthy — focusing on heart-friendly foods ❤️

Your heart works hard for you every single day. The good news? Small changes in your diet can make a big difference.

❤️ Heart-Healthy Foods to Enjoy More Often:
🥦 Leafy greens like spinach and kale
🐟 Oily fish such as salmon and mackerel
🌾 Wholegrains (oats, brown rice, wholemeal bread)
🥑 Healthy fats from avocados, nuts and seeds
🫐 Berries packed with antioxidants
🫒 Olive oil instead of butter
These foods can help support healthy cholesterol levels, reduce inflammation and keep your cardiovascular system strong.

🍰 Foods to Enjoy in Moderation:

🍟 Fried and heavily processed foods
🥓 Fatty or processed meats
🍰 Sugary treats and pastries
🧂 High-salt snacks
🧈 Foods high in saturated fats
Remember — it’s not about restriction. It’s about balance. You can absolutely enjoy your favourite treats, just aim for moderation rather than everyday indulgence.
Small, consistent changes lead to lasting results 💚
If you’d like more lifestyle tips to support your overall wellbeing, our team is always here to help.

💛 Emotional Health Week | 19th–22nd February 💛

This week we are recognising the importance of emotional health — something we feel strongly about every single day at Wincanton Chiropractic.

Emotional wellbeing and physical health are closely linked. Stress, anxiety and emotional strain often manifest physically — as tension, back pain, headaches, fatigue and disrupted sleep. That’s why our approach is always centred around caring for the whole person, not just treating symptoms.

We are incredibly proud of our team and the supportive environment we create together:

• Alison, Brian and Christopher – Chiropractors
• Tanya – Massage Therapist
• Hannah – Sports Massage & Lymphatic Drainage
• James – Osteopath & Acupuncture
• Viviane – Acupuncture, Cupping & Moxibustion
• Millie – Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist
• Victoria – Practice Manager, always ready with a listening ear
• Kirsty – Reception Team, always happy to help wherever she can

From hands-on treatment that eases physical tension, to calm treatment rooms, to a warm welcome at reception — everything we do is with your wellbeing in mind.

Our main aim is simple:
✨ For you to feel happy
✨ For you to feel cared for
✨ For you to know you are never alone

If you’re finding things difficult, please know you can speak to us. Sometimes the first step is simply being heard.

With care,
The Wincanton Chiropractic Team 💛

🐎🌕 Happy Lunar New Year from Wincanton Chiropractic Clinic! 🌕🐎

Today, 17th February, we celebrate the Year of the Horse — a symbol of strength, endurance, independence and forward momentum. The Horse represents energy, resilience and determination… qualities we see every day in our clinic.

We’re proud to say we have some truly talented riders within both our staff and our patients — and of course, some absolutely gorgeous horses too! 🐴✨ (We never get tired of seeing your horse photos, so please keep sharing them!)

Riding is physically demanding. It requires balance, core stability, flexibility, coordination and control. Whether you're training, competing, hacking out, or simply enjoying time in the saddle, your body works hard.

We have extensive experience supporting equestrians by:
✔ Keeping riders agile and aligned
✔ Improving posture and symmetry in the saddle
✔ Supporting performance and recovery
✔ Helping you bounce back from the occasional fall or accident

And remember — whether your issue is horse-related or completely unrelated, we’re here to help keep you moving comfortably and confidently.

Here’s to a year of strength, freedom and feeling your absolute best — in and out of the saddle. 🐎💪

📸 Show us your horse pictures next time you’re in — we love celebrating our talented riding community!

💝 Happy Valentine’s Day from the team at Wincanton Chiropractic Clinic! 💝

Valentine’s Day, celebrated on 14th February, dates back to the story of St. Valentine — a figure associated with kindness, compassion and caring for others. Over the centuries, the day has grown into a celebration of love in all its forms — partners, family, friends and community.

Here at the clinic, we see love a little differently.
For us, it’s about caring for our patients, supporting their wellbeing and helping them live comfortably and with less pain. We love what we do, and we’re proud to help our wonderful community stay active, mobile and feeling their best.

Every adjustment, massage, treatment and appointment is delivered with genuine care and commitment. That’s the kind of love we celebrate today ❤️

Wishing all our patients and the wider Wincanton community a very Happy Valentine’s Day.

❤️ National Heart Month – Step Into Better Heart Health ❤️
This week we’re focusing on one of the easiest ways to care for your heart… walking!
Walking is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Whether it’s a gentle stroll around the block, a countryside walk, or marching around with the grandchildren, it all counts.

Regular walking can:
• Strengthen your heart and lungs
• Improve blood pressure and circulation
• Help manage weight
• Reduce stress
• Improve joint mobility
• Boost energy levels

It’s free, accessible, and a wonderful way to get fresh air and connect with others.
However, we know that back pain, stiff hips, sore knees or tight shoulders can sometimes make walking uncomfortable. That’s where we come in.

At Wincanton Chiropractic Clinic, our experienced team of Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, Osteopaths and Acupuncturists work together to help keep you moving and feeling your best.

If you’ve got a ni**le that’s stopping you from getting out and about, don’t ignore it — let us help.
