💜 February arrives with a quiet sense of transition.💜

The days are slowly lengthening… is it just me, or are the birds singing a little more joyfully?

In class this month, our focus is on twists - not forcing into complicated shapes, but creating a feeling of space and noticing the feedback from within. Softening winter heaviness and allowing fresh energy to move through, at a pace that feels supportive and kind. We’ll delve deeper into the relationship between the spine, pelvis and upper body, exploring the fundamentals of twisting the body.

February sits beautifully between rest and renewal, reminding us that we don’t need to rush toward spring. There is wisdom in staying with what is here… trust things are quietly rearranging beneath the surface.

When I’m asked to describe yoga, it’s not an easy question to answer! I’ve been giving it a little thought lately and this is what I’ve landed on.

Yoga is the afterglow of mind body integration.

It works by bringing scattered attention back into the body.

Many of us move through our lives with the mind and body disconnected. As if the body was having one experience and the mind another. Yoga gently invites these parts back into relationship.

When body, breath, and awareness move together, the mind settles and the whole body feels safer, calmer, and more connected. Held.

As integration replaces effort, we experience a subtle but powerful shift - from doing to being, from tension to presence. Have you experienced that moment in class where suddenly you feel whole again? You’ve landed every part of yourself into the same place, at the same time. You’ve arrived . Reconnected and disconnected in the same moment. THIS IS YOGA.

This is where yoga becomes transformative.❤️

Post-retreat weekend vibes.❤️

Ayla and I got to work last night refreshing the studio after our beautiful winter warmer retreat on Friday. When I went back into the space I could sense something special energetically. After hanging out for a while on the bolsters and soaking it up, we laundered the eye pillows and blankets, gathered the rose petals and made sure the space was ready for our Sunday community zoom, swiftly followed by another week of in-person group and private classes. It’s going to be another busy week of yoga.

Feeling so lucky to share this space with my sweet little helper and a beautiful community of yogis.💜

Finishing touches for our winter warmer retreat… yellow rose petals to symbolise a return to the gentle embers of inner warmth and connection within. I can’t wait to hold space for 5 beautiful yogis, to invite them on a journey to nourish their nervous system through warmth, rhythm and deep listening. 💛💛💛

🌞Walking off our jet lag (in between wash loads and putting the decorations away!) and enjoying a moment of glorious spaciousness.

🌞Family time is WONDERFUL but after 13 days together (including sleeping in the same room for 9 nights!) we were ready for a little headspace from our treasures - no doubt they feel the same! The kids had to share a bed too all holiday so I think they were very happy to be in their own bed(rooms) last night!

🌞George and I are looking forward to getting back into work mode after a refreshing change of rhythm and scenery - we’re working on some exciting new plans for the online yoga membership, which we look forward to sharing later this year.

🌞For now, things will remain the same and I’ll be teaching our first live membership class of the year on Sunday 11th January. In addition to all the on demand videos in the collection (150+ with new content added regularly) I host 2 live classes every month via zoom.
