Yesterday we went to the BearFace Theatre CIC interactive exhibition at the Arc to see the outcomes of their "Speak out, listen in" project, that we are very proud to have been a part of.

An insightful and thought provoking exhibition around safety, what makes us feel safe and unsafe, how we look at others when we feel unsafe and how as a community we can look out for each other.

And also how more wizards in the world might be a solution 🧙‍♂️😉......

In last week’s Go US session, we looked at how much everyday things cost 💵 One of the most popular activities was buying a tea or coffee 🍵- so a big well done to Edwin, David and Charlie for accepting the challenge and bringing their own flasks to save a bit of money this week! 👏

💬Hi Sharron, Thank you for the talk about spending yesterday in the Go US session. My brother came home full of positivity! It’s something I’ve tried to make him aware of before - he found it really useful and engaged with it well 🙂

One of Lawrie’s Go ME goals was to regain his confidence performing in front of an audience. At our AGM, he did exactly that by sharing a poem he wrote himself about Go LD 👏

We happy few
We happy few we band of brothers
All the world’s a stage
And everyone is golden like the sun
Sometimes everyone goes up and down, up and down
And fall down
And get up
The golden sun is bright
And everybody hurts at times
Make our dreams come true
And see the world
And sometimes everyone drops in
And drops out
Glory to us all, my own dark materials
And calm the sea

Well done Lawrie 🌟

💬"What impressed me deeply is the way they [Go LD] recognise and celebrate their members as experts in their own lived experience. This ethos of respect and empowerment shines through in everything they do.” - The Mayor of Wi******er, Sudhakar Achwal

💬“Thank you so much for your time and all the understanding and support you and Go LD have given Lawrie over the last year. Miranda spending some one-to-one time with him really changed his week and opened a door back to the outside world for him, and the Go ME course is evidently taking him further on that journey. There’s a way to go, of course, but your work in setting specific goals and understanding the challenges to his recovery has been truly transformational.” - Lawrie’s mum

A Wi******er learning disability charity has said that funding remains “a key challenge” at its annual general meeting.
