Love was most definitely on the menu at Castle View this Valentine’s week.

The restaurant was dressed in shades of red and pink, complete with hand-knitted hearts from our talented Craft Club.

Rather than tables for two, our homeowners chose to share the evening with friends and neighbours — raising a glass (of our new rosé, naturally) to good company and great food.

The “Marry Me Chicken” lived up to its name, but it was Saturday’s surprise delivery — a rose, chocolates and a poem from a ‘Secret Admirer’ — that truly stole hearts....if only we knew who the admirer was 😉

🎶 It’s Bingo… but better!

After-dinner Musical Bingo brought the fun factor to Castle View again last week!

A lively twist on the classic game, players swapped numbers for song titles - listening (and singing along!) to familiar tracks and marking off their cards as the music played.

Across three rounds (the 50s, 60s, and crowd-favourite sing-alongs) the room was filled with plenty of singing, and even the occasional dance move. Prizes were handed out in style to the sound of Cliff Richard’s “Congratulations”… and yes, Elvis even made an appearance!

Huge thanks to our event leaders Melanie, Sarah, and Tracey for bringing the party vibe, and to our enthusiastic Homeowners for their energy

A special shout-out to Wildcat Willie (.willie.7) from Windsor & Eton Brewery, for inspiring and helping us create our very own Castle View version.

We ended the night with our unofficial Castle View anthem — “Sweet Caroline”! 🎤💃

It’s not a surprise to us..... but it’s still lovely to say out loud: has just been named the best place in England to grow old.

When you think about the castle, the river, the parks and the fact you can be in London in no time, it does make sense, doesn’t it?

At Castle View, we see the “why” every day – neighbours becoming friends, plenty going on and a feeling that later life is something to enjoy, not endure.

So yes, the headlines have caught up… Windsor really is a brilliant place to grow older – and an even better place to call home.

Last week, staff and homeowners joined together, in true Castle View style, to celebrate the retirement of our weekend chef, Bev.

We raised a glass (or several!) while enjoying a delicious meal of lasagne and raspberry meringue roulade - not catered by our guest of honour - along with heartfelt speeches and presentations from our General Manager, Kevin, our Catering Manager, Sharon, and Bev herself.

Bev has been part of Castle View for four years as our weekend chef, also lending her talents to many of our events, and is especially renowned for her famous Sunday Roast Lunches.

She’ll be keeping busy with exciting plans to travel in her new camper van, but we hope she’ll return from time to time to lend a hand with catering cover.

Don’t roam too far on your travels, Bev!
