Last Thursday, we hosted Investing in Talent 2025, an inspiring day connecting talented students with disabilities and long-term health conditions with inclusive employers across banking, finance, and technology. 💼✨

Attendees explored how to identify their ‘plus’, heard powerful stories from disabled professionals, gained practical insights into recruitment and disclosure, and networked with leading firms including Citi Bank of America 富達投信 Fidelity International - Taiwan HSBC JPMorganChase Lloyds Bank

It was a day full of learning, confidence, and connection.

No Experience? No Problem 💜

Many disabled students worry they don’t have enough work experience to apply for jobs or internships. The truth is, you’re not alone and employers are interested in much more than just work experience. They want to see:

✨ Your potential
✨ Your unique skills
✨ How you overcome challenges

Experience comes in many forms beyond work: university projects, volunteering, disability-related problem-solving, clubs, societies, personal achievements, and committee roles.

You can also gain experience by:
✔️ Searching for internships
✔️ Taking online courses
✔️ Volunteering locally
✔️ Exploring opportunities on campus (peer mentoring, campus jobs, open days)

Remember: work experience isn’t everything. You already have so many strengths so recognise them, own them, and put them to use.
