Grimsby… in LEGOLAND Windsor?! 🤯

I genuinely didn’t expect this one…

Hidden away in Miniland’s North of England section is a full LEGO recreation of Grimsby’s docks — including the Dock Tower, Victoria Mill, Dock Offices and Corporation Bridge, all built from thousands of bricks.

Growing up near Grimsby, it’s a bit surreal seeing it represented like this (and in LEGOLAND of all places 😅).

Next time you visit, it’s definitely worth slowing down and having a proper look around Miniland — there’s more real UK history in there than you might think.

Grimsby’s officially made it 😂

Did you know the Disney name actually started in a tiny village in England?

📍 Norton Disney, Lincolnshire.

Most people associate Disney with America and Disneyland, but the Disney family name can be traced back to this quiet English village where the family settled centuries ago.

Even Walt Disney himself visited Norton Disney in 1949 while he was in the UK working on the film Treasure Island. During his visit he explored the village to learn more about his ancestry.

As a former LEGO Master Model Builder, I decided to tell the story in a slightly different way…

By bringing LEGO Walt Disney back to the place where the Disney name began.

This trip was also personal for me. I grew up in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, and my parents once brought me here as a surprise when I was younger.

Returning now to tell the story properly felt like a bit of a full circle moment.

THANK YOU CHEADLE!

What a fantastic day at the BrickLab Academy workshop in Cheadle today. It was brilliant to see so many creative builders getting stuck in, designing their own ideas and bringing them to life brick by brick.

From imaginative creations to some seriously impressive builds, the energy in the room was amazing. It is always great to see how LEGO bricks can spark creativity, confidence and problem solving across all ages.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made today such a fun and inspiring session, and to Cheadle Guild Hall for hosting us.

Looking forward to being back soon with even more bricks and even bigger builds.

Cheadle – it’s happening tomorrow!

Tomorrow I’ll be bringing BrickLab Academy to Cheadle Guild Hall for a hands on creative LEGO® building workshop.

This session is all about creativity, imagination and building something amazing together. Whether you are a seasoned builder or picking up bricks for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Expect guided builds, creative challenges and plenty of inspiration throughout the session.

A brilliant start to the day chatting live on BBC Radio Stoke about all things bricks, creativity, and the journey behind BrickLab Academy 🧱

From building large-scale LEGO® models to delivering workshops across the UK, it was great to share how something as simple as a brick can bring people together, spark creativity, and create real impact within communities.

Really grateful for the opportunity to come on and talk about the work we’re doing, the projects in the pipeline, and what’s next for BrickLab Academy.

🧱 CHEADLE WORKSHOP BUILD REVEAL 🧱

Really excited to finally share the official model for our BrickLab Academy Workshop at Guild Hall, Cheadle on March 7th ⚔️

This exclusive medieval knight build has been custom designed for the session — complete with sword, armour, plume helmet and treasure base. A proper heroic display piece that every builder will take home at the end of the workshop 👑✨

As always, the session will include:
• Step-by-step guided build
• Creative free-build time
• Your completed model to keep
• A fun, supportive atmosphere for all abilities

This model is only available at the March 7th Cheadle sessions and will be produced in limited numbers for the day.
