Practices across the UK have been informed that delivery of flu vaccines will be delayed by around 2 weeks due to transportation issues for the suppliers.
Our clinics were due to start in early-mid October but in all likelihood we are now looking at running them towards the end of October.
We understand that this is later than normal but it is very much a case of circumstances beyond our control in this instance.
Please be assured that once the delivery date is confirmed, you will be contacted to book your appointment.

SURGERY CLOSED DURING AFTERNOON

The doctors and staff will be attending a training session on this date and therefore the surgery will be closed from 12 noon.

The telephones will also be unavailable as the system will be handled by the Out-of-Hours service who can be contacted by telephoning 111.

Any requests for appointments, prescriptions and blood test results
can be made when the surgery reopens on Thursday 16th September

JOB VACANCY: DISPENSER
Job overview:
Small friendly village surgery with a patient list of c.4,200 is looking for 1-2 Dispensers to cover between up to 28 hours a week. You will be dealing with scripts and deliveries as well as dispensing medication to patients.
**Please note: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in dispensing required or willingness to study for it**
You will be expected to follow the Government guidelines for Covid-19 at all times. This currently includes wearing a face mask whilst carrying out your role but this may change in the future

Main duties of the job
• Issuing prepared prescriptions. Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements.
• Answering the telephone promptly and dealing with prescription requests.
• Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage. Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
• Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control logbook
• Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and in good working order
• Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.
• To collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient or their representative

Additional Information
You will have 5 weeks holiday (pro-rata for part time employees) and be eligible to join the NHS Pension Plan.
