This weekend I am riding a bike from Barnsley to Amsterdam to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. This is 150 miles (via the Hull to Rotterdam ferry) 75 from Barnsley to Hull and 75 from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. Great afternoon and lovely scones and cakes

First carers group meeting at Denton Burn Community Centre.
It was a great success.
Great cuppa,China cups and saucers and tea out of a tea pot.
Table cloths, serviette so, all sorts of buttered scones, Danish
pastries and cake.
Fantastic music from days gone by and very good company.
ALL FOR FREE FOR EVERY
ONE who would like to join us.
Every other Monday afternoon from 2 till 4pm except for Bank Holidays.
Very well done everyone.

Our CARERS GROUP is starting on 11th of May in the WEST DENTON COMMUNITY CENTRE on Slatyford lane. 2-00pm till 4-00pm. It is ostensibly for people who are ''caring'' for other people but also for any one who would like to pop in to have a cuppa and a chat with us and with others possibly in the same position.
PLEASE CALL IN. Bring your friends, family or any one you might bump into on the way.
We would love to see you.

Last meeting at the Hotel this morning with Martin Fisher and co. Great to see so many health champions attending.
The meeting was brisk and interesting with Martin in his usual good form getting the most out of everyone.
I think most of us left feeling there was still a way forward and relieved to learn there will be on going support all be it in a different form.
The comment about 'mutual and un biased respect' was the only point which I discussed and the ONLY one I wanted to discuss. The other comment made did not come from me but from a few questions I was being asked. It was not up for general discussion as I told the person concerned after the meeting.
We are all of the opinion that we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with and we appreciate the help and the input from the staff members with whom we work.
This has been posted in case there was any misunderstanding of issues raised.
We look forward to moving on and to continuing our work at the 'Turrets' and to improving the groups we already have and enjoying those in the pipe line.

Denton Turret Health Champions would like to invite every one in the community to join us every week for a Walk For Health.
We walk as fast as the slowest walker so you don't need to be a seasons walker.
We are dog friendly and the kids are welcome too.
We leave from the surgery door every Thursday morning weather permitting, and walk for about an hour . Please join us.

Held our Health Champions open day today at West Denton Community Centre.
Thank you to the lady in charge of the building and a KING SIZE THANK YOU to all the lovely people who came to meet us and those who called in to lend their support.
We are looking forward to new members joining our groups.
