Look after your feet this winter, the cold weather is slowly beginning to creep in now.
The cold weather, combined with low humidity and indoor heating, can wreak havoc on the skin. Feet are particularly vulnerable because:
• The cold air outside and heated air inside strip moisture from your skin, leaving feet dry and flaky.
• Dead skin tends to build up faster on the soles of your feet during winter due to lack of exfoliation.
• The dryness can lead to painful cracks, especially if you’re standing for long periods or wearing ill-fitting shoes.
• Cold temperatures cause blood vessels to constrict, reducing circulation to the extremities, which can make your feet feel cold and increase the risk of skin problems.
Remember to
• Moisturize daily
• Stay hydrated
• Choose the right footwear
• Exfoliate regularly
• Keep feet dry
• Warm up your body and feet safely
