Skybound Therapies is a multidisciplinary team of professionals all focused on helping children, adolescents and adults reach their potential. Skybound incorporates Behaviour Analysis, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. We believe in providing quality interventions that make a real difference to lives. Productive day at the office! 🧠 We held our first quarterly development meeting last week at Paul Sartori House in Haverfordwest, diving deep into our Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) and defining the lead and lag measures for every department.

This doesn’t look like much, just a wardrobe with some clothes hanging in it. For us, this is huge. This is the first young person staying in our short stay therapeutic residential home for the first time ever. This is years’ of work by our team to get to this point. We’ve been talking about doing this for a very long time and now we’ve made it a reality. This is Level 6 in our mission. We have had lots of support to get this far, support from Accelerated Growth Programme by Business Wales and their growth coaches, hand holding for many years with Landsker Business Solutions Ltd, Innovation Coaching with Social Care Wales, and the lightbulb moment delivered by Howard Jones. Thank you to everyone internal and external who has helped on this journey. By far the biggest thanks go to the families and social workers who trust us to help when families need it most.

Some days the gravity of the years gone by, hit you. Today is one of those days, to see Dan sit so calmly at Pets at Home watching the fish, to go shopping in the Range for some Easter hunt things for our Care Farm, to have Dan help me take the alpacas for a walk, they’re all things I will never take for granted. I know for over 20 years we have worked hard on making these things a reality and they still need planning and careful management. We then went for a walk to a big old Oak tree on our farm, Dan’s been visiting this tree since he was small and he’s always liked to sit under it. Now in the last year of his 20s, as he sat there, I had vivid recollections of him sat there as a young child. I’ll be forever grateful for finding behaviour science, if another parent hadn’t given me a job as a behaviour tutor, Dan’s life would have been very different.

If you’ve seen Courtney around our Pembrokeshire hub lately, she might be carrying a box even bigger than she is!
We are so excited to announce that alongside her main role as a Behaviour Technician supporting our amazing clients, Courtney has officially taken on the title of Resources Champion for the Pembrokeshire team. 🏆
What does that mean? She’s now the go-to person for making sure our team has every tool, toy, and therapeutic resource they need to provide the best possible support. From ordering new gear to keeping the cupboards topped up, Courtney’s making sure we never miss a beat.

After months of hard work, preparation, and dedication to creating a safe, nurturing environment, we are ready to open our doors for short-term residential care. Our mission has always been to provide a "home away from home" for children, and this registration is the final piece of the puzzle.
