It may be gloomy and rainy outside 🌧️😴, but inside we’ve got peak level entertainment happening — complete with laughter, strategy, and a tiny bit of mischief! 😄🔥

This morning, Martin threw down the ultimate challenge: a Chess Showdown™ against Monica. 🧠⚔️

Monica’s game plan?
Not strategy… not tactics…
✨DISTRACTION✨
She tried asking every chess question under the sun 🤯😂 in hopes of derailing Martin’s master plan.

Did it work?
…Nope. Not even close.
Martin still took the crown! 👑🏆♟️

But hey — Monica gets full points for creativity and comedic timing. 😂👏

🍷 Wine and Dine at Boars Tye House! 🍽️

Boars Tye House is perfectly placed in a charming garden village full of character — complete with a memorial park, a Co‑op, a chip shop, a library, a friendly pub and so much more!

Today, Peter fancied a lovely stroll down to the local shops, as he never misses the chance to enjoy a glass of wine with his lunch!

He and Monica spent some time browsing the wine aisle, where Peter happily shared his expertise — giving Monica a brilliant lesson on what really makes a good wine. 🍇✨

We love seeing our residents enjoying the little adventures of everyday life.

🎨✨ Creativity & History Come Alive at Boars Tye House! ✨🏡

Braintree Museum is bringing the charming Silver End dolls of the 1930s back to life — and Boars Tye House has the honour of creating one of them! 🧵🧸

Only a handful of the original 100 dolls made by the Silver End Women’s Institute still survive, so the museum is lovingly re‑creating each one as part of the Silver End centenary celebrations 🎉.

Our residents are delighted to be helping craft a Cricketeer doll, and today we officially started the creative journey! It was a morning full of laughter, memories, and lively conversation — especially when the topic turned to music. Let’s just say… the gentlemen had very strong opinions about Monica’s playlist! 🎶😄

As the season begins to brighten, our gardens are getting ready to burst into colour — and so are we! 🌷✨
Today, we decided to bring that springtime magic indoors by creating our very own flower pictures. 🎨💐

Natalie, our wonderful Well‑Being Lead, and our residents had such a lovely time getting creative and celebrating the joy of spring together. The room was full of smiles, laughter, and lots of colourful masterpieces! 🌈😊

☀️ What a beautiful day!
The sun has been shining, and it’s putting a smile on everyone’s face as the warm rays beam down! 😄☀️ Even our residents have been outside soaking up the sunshine. 🌻

We are so lucky at Boars Tye to have both a front and back garden 🌿🌷 for all of our residents to enjoy—especially during the lovely summer months! Many of our residents are already eager to get outdoors, roll up their sleeves, and get green‑fingered! 🌱🪴

Tri‑Domineos — not dominoes! 🎲🎲🎲

Today our staff and residents took on something completely new, and what a brilliant time we had. With a few Tri‑Domineos enthusiasts among us, we decided to challenge ourselves… and the residents absolutely shone!

Monica and Danielle got their heads in a twist, but luckily our residents were on hand to teach the staff a thing or two.

It’s all fun and games at Boars Tye House, and today was next-level hilarious! 🎉

Our residents were on a mission—armed with pool noodles and big smiles—as they tried to knock the ball off the cups. But then Natalie, our fearless Wellbeing Lead, decided to spice things up… by putting the cup on her own head! 🤣

Let’s just say the residents did not hold back!
Laughter? ✔️
Friendly competition? ✔️
Pure joy? ✔️✔️✔️

☕️ Fundraising for Farleigh Hospice 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Coffee Morning raising funds for Farleigh Hospice. We were delighted to welcome the wonderful Sally, an ambassador for the charity, who brought such warmth and passion to the event 🌼.

A special shout‑out goes to Fred and Ken 👴👴, our brilliant residents, and to Monica, our Wellbeing Lead 🎈, for blowing up balloons and decorating the Snug so beautifully. You made the space feel truly welcoming.

Our amazing cooks treated us to coffee and walnut cake, scones with cream and jam, and indulgent chocolate brownies 🍰✨. We were also spoiled with homemade bread pudding and lemon cake from the talented Alisha-Bakes essex 🍋🧁.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised an incredible £106.16 for Farleigh Hospice 💚.

Please keep your eyes peeled for our next upcoming Coffee Morning, where we’ll be raising funds for our next chosen charity ☕️💖.
