🎄 Christmas at Boars Tye 🎄

Christmas is such a special time for loved ones to stay connected with family and friends. Over the festive period, our team has been busy supporting residents with writing their Christmas cards and wrapping gifts to send to those they cherish.

✨🎶 A huge thank you to the KS2 pupils from Silver End Academy who visited us. They filled the home with festive cheer, performing a variety of Christmas songs that had our residents clapping, singing along, and smiling from ear to ear. 🎄❤️

We are always keen to keep strong community links, as children truly brighten up our residents’ lives. 🌟

Shooting Hoops and Sharing Smiles! 🏀

Our residents had a blast shooting some hoops today! From impressive swishes to determined tries, everyone gave it their all. Big shoutout to Monica—her persistence paid off with a winning shot after a few warm-ups! 💪👏

Monica joined two of our gentlemen residents for a lively few rounds of draughts and dominoes. The men may have claimed victory (and the chocolates 🍫), but Monica brought plenty of laughter and good spirit to the games!

At Boars Tye House, every activity is person‑centred. We explore each resident’s history, interests, and passions to make sure the moments we share are meaningful and support their well‑being 💜.

✨ Community Spirit at Silver End! ✨

Yesterday, the Boars Tye House team joined the Silver End Christmas Light Switch-On, and what a fantastic evening it was! 🎄

We brought along our very own Human Fruit Machine 🍎🍌🍊 to raise funds for our residents’ activities—and it was a hit! There were plenty of laughs, smiles, and even a few lucky winners. 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, played along, and supported us. Your generosity helps us create even more special moments for our residents. 💜

Boars Tye Christmas Party 2025

What an incredible evening filled with dancing, singing, and plenty of laughter! From the homemade sausage rolls to the freshly baked scones, every bite was simply delicious. A special highlight of the night was the amazing live performance by Marie Saunders which truly made the celebration unforgettable.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to make this event possible. It’s always wonderful to see families come together and share these joyful moments with our residents.

Dudley the Dog!

Dudley from Essex Therapy Dogs visited the residents where they all had a nice cuddle.

Dog therapy is important for people living with dementia because it benefits both physical and mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and loneliness while improving mood, social interaction, and cognitive function.

The simple act of interacting with a therapy animal can lower blood pressure and heart rate, release feel-good hormones, and increase physical activity, providing comfort and a more engaging therapeutic environment.

Its time for 10!

Even on our busiest days, we make sure to spend at least 10 minutes simply sitting and chatting with our residents—because those moments of connection truly support everyone’s well-being.

Here you can see our maintenance team member sharing a conversation with two of our male residents and our Well-Being Lead, Monica. They’re discussing his daily role and even swapping hints and tips on how to fix things around the home!
