Thinking about home care for a loved one… but not sure where to start?

If you’ve never stepped into the world of home care before, it can feel overwhelming. There’s new terminology, and many new decisions.

And often, a lot of emotion tied up in it all. So, you might be asking yourself, where do I begin.

To help, we've put together some key questions you could ask on an initial phone call.
• How do you match Care Professionals and clients?
• What happens if Mum doesn’t like her Care Professional?
• Do your Care Professionals drive? Can Dad still get to appointments?
• Do you help with personal care?
• What’s your CQC rating?

This is a key question! The Care Quality Commission (CQC) independently inspects care providers, so it’s always worth asking about inspection ratings and reports as transparency matters (we have a 'good' rating by the way!)

However, the most important thing to remember is: you are allowed to ask questions, as many as you need!

On Friday we celebrated our lovely Lucy, who was crowned our Oxford Key Player of the Year for 2025! 🥳

Lucy, our People Experience Coordinator, has been part of our journey since 2020 and last year Lucy showed (once again) that she is organised, caring, helpful in all aspects of our business, and mighty good at managing a spreadsheet. As well as being a shared service for Oxford and Swindon, Lucy joined our launch of the Thornbury office at the end of 2025 and keeps us on her toes with her incredible efficiency.

Robyn, our Head of People Experience, said "we couldn't have managed all of our achievements last year if it wasn't for Lucy. She supports me through so much and we work so well together - she is quick, efficient and I love seeing how she has grown and developed over the past few years. She's a huge part of our mission to growth and quality, and last year she also showed she's a dab-hand at knuckling into so many areas of our business, especially when numbers were down in Oxford. I also must recognise her hard work in Oxford last year with live-in care management and organisation. Here's to you, Lucy, I'm so glad to have you in the People team!"

Were excited about this!! Introducing... the Stay Well At Home Magazine! 🌿

For many months in the making, we've been working in the background on a magazine filled with guidance, articles and advice on everything that can support our older community to stay living well at home. Think tips for nutrition, articles and stories from families about dementia care and how to spot the signs a loved one may need support.

We've curated months of hard work, design and planning into this magazine, which will be republished every 6 months, and the Winter/Spring edition is finally here. The launch falls nicely into our campaign, too.

We'd love your support in sharing this far and wide - anyone is more than welcome to pop in to our office in Witney for a free copy. 💚
