Have your say on local government changes

You may have seen in local news that Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is currently consulting on proposed plans for the reorganisation of local government. This includes proposals for Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire.

There’s a separate consultation for each area, and residents are encouraged to share their views on where they live.

🗓️ The deadline to take part is 26 March 2026.

Your responses will help inform the government’s decision on whether - and how - any changes move forward.

👉 For more information and to take part, see the consultation details, or look out for updates from or contact your local council.

This morning, three of our staff took part in a speed networking event with Year 9 students at Chipping Norton School

Set up like speed dating, small groups of students rotated between professionals to ask questions about different jobs and career paths. The aim was to introduce students to a wide range of roles and industries they might not have considered before.

Across two sessions, around 170 students took part. It was a lively and enjoyable event, and a great opportunity to help young people start thinking about their future career options!

• Proposed time limits for complaints
• Whether the approach will lead to fair outcomes

We've exchanged contracts for more affordable homes at the new Woodlands development being built in South Marston, near Swindon.

We'll be working with Taylor Wimpey to provide 31 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership. We're also working with developer Vistry, and have exchanged contracts on 14 extra homes with them at the site, in addition to 29 properties under construction - also with a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership.

"Securing these new homes in South Marston is another step in providing more homes for Swindon, where there is high demand and need for affordable homes providing opportunities for those who cannot afford to rent or buy on the open market,” says Colin Bloodworth, our Director of Development and Partnerships.
