π©ββοΈ What is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)?
An Advanced Nurse Practitioner is a highly skilled nurse with advanced training (often Masterβs level) who can assess, diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of health conditions β much like a GP.
What can an ANP do?
π©Ί Assess & diagnose β take medical histories, examine patients, request and interpret tests.
π Prescribe medication β most ANPs are independent prescribers.
π Create treatment plans β manage long-term conditions like asthma, diabetes or COPD.
β‘ Provide urgent care β minor illnesses, infections, injuries and same-day problems.
π₯ Carry out procedures β e.g., wound care, cervical screening, joint injections (depending on training).
π€ Offer holistic, patient-centred support β time to explain, advise and guide your care.
ANPs are a vital part of our clinical team, helping you access expert care quickly and safely.
