Black Friday....does anyone else feel like this lasts 2 weeks or is that just me 😅
Now, if you have been in need of something for a while, then of course, it makes sense to utilise the often big savings that this day (week) bring.
But it feels like we are all looking for more connection vs consumption these days. Christmas already rests precariously on the edge of too much stress, too much overwhelm, too much want, too much consumption, so Black Friday can add another layer of this. Did you want that 'thing' BEFORE you saw the advertisement?
One way I like to turn it around is by using the day to slow down, light a candle, have a cuppa & send out a couple of gifts for my friends. A 'just because' gift. Something small, something that makes them feel thought of, something that hopefully will make them pause & rest for a moment.
What are your ways to handle feelings of over consumerism during the festive period?
