Last week, we said a heartfelt farewell to Nikki Cartin, our Theatre Clinical Leader, as she begins her well‑deserved retirement after an incredible 40 years with Nuffield Health.

Kelly Coleman, Theatre Manager, thanked Nikki for her exceptional dedication, her unwavering commitment to patient care, and the huge contribution she has made to the success of our hospital over the decades.

💉 200 Arthrosamid® injections at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital

Last month marked a major milestone at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital as Consultant Knee Surgeon Mr James Platt delivered his 200th Arthrosamid® injection.

On 30 December 2025, Mr Platt welcomed Professor Thomas Cosker from the Nuffield Health Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. The pair spent the morning discussing Arthrosamid®, with Mr Platt sharing insights from introducing and developing the service here in Woking. Professor Cosker then observed several procedures, including the landmark 200th injection.

From Professor Tom Cosker: “It was a huge honour to spend the day with my friend and former colleague James Platt, who is at the forefront of delivering what is proving to be a fantastic innovation in orthopaedics: Arthrosamid. James has established a state‑of‑the‑art practice where he can assess a patient’s suitability and deliver the treatment in a sterile environment. He uses ultrasound guidance to ensure precise positioning and delivery of the hydrogel implant. We had a great day together, and I have every confidence that this treatment, under James’ expert care, will continue to improve the lives of people living with knee arthritis for years to come.”
