February flew by here at Jackman's Lodge, come and take a look at what we have been up to.
- Colin came and sang a medley of songs for our Residents one afternoon.
- We held a coffee morning for our lovely volunteer Janet. She has been with us many years now and has decided she's going to reduce her volunteering hours. We surprised Janet with a memory book of past Art workshops, flowers & chocolates!
- Chris held a Piano Recital for our residents.
- We held a Harp recital which the residents found very soothing.
- We have decided to display all the lovely artwork completed by residents around the home and into a dedicated 'craft corner'.
- On 27th of February we celebrated one of our residents 100th Birthday .There was a small party and our Head Chef made a lovely afternoon tea for everybody - how yummy!

January update...
New Year’s Day we had party games it was a lovely day full of fun and celebration.
We have a wishing tree at the home, the residents made individual leaves with information relating to them which was very special and we learnt a lot more about each other during this activity.
We held a Hawaiian beach day which the Residents thoroughly enjoyed as did family members. The activities included beach volleyball and Limbo dancing.
We held a bowls competition in January, which was a huge success.
Weekly exercises provided by Sunny Smiles, lots of the residents choose to take part in this. All who got involved had a great time.

December update...
All the Residents decorated their doors with the support from Staff , this took place throughout November & December and we also held Christmas Card workshops too.
Students from The Park school in Woking came to sing a Carol Concert, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed.
On the 19th December we held the Residents Christmas Party which was enjoyed by all, we had entertainment and the winners of the Christmas door competition were announced.
We had entertainment during Christmas week, which included Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
The tap dancing is very popular with the residents who enjoyed a variety of songs whilst Katie performed.
Daniel came and sang a medley of the rat pack festive songs.

Over the last few weeks the residents enjoyed an afternoon of table curling.
A piano concert was held in the Chandelier Lounge, which was received with enthusiasm by the residents, it was lovely to hear their voices in song.
We have held Christmas Wreath making workshops throughout November, ready to display in December, the residents thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
We celebrated the iconic film of the Sound of Music; the day was themed around the film and Austrian culture.
We were entertained by Daniel with an afternoon of a medley of 50’s songs.

On Friday the 3rd November the local church - St John the Baptist conducted a service at Jackman's Lodge. The residents sent prayers for loved ones in the afternoon and we watched a virtual fireworks display accompanied by some very tasty cheese and wine.
On Monday 6th November we made poppies for Remembrance Day.
On Tuesday 7th November Francisco came to play his South American harp which the residents found very relaxing.

On Mondy the residents had a wonderful harpist called Margaret play for them. It made the residents feel very happy and relaxed.
On Friday Daneil came to sing to the residents. He sang rat pack and other songs. The residents thoroughly enjoy Daneil’s visits.
We also celebrated Halloween this week and put decorations up around the home. We also had a spooky menu that was prepared by our lovely chef.
