Elderly Care -
Asking for elderly care at home can be one of the biggest decisions you ever have to make, whether you can no longer manage on your own, would enjoy some company or you need help caring for a loved one. With our help and support you will be able to continue to live happily and confidently in your own home for as long as you want to and it is safe to do so. Much of our work for our elderly clients goes on behind the scenes and involves the co ordination and management of all the partners involved in their Care. On a weekly basis we can work and liaise with:
Family members
GP's
District Nurses
Pharmacists
Physio Therapists
Chiropodist
Dentist
Optometrist
Service funders
Social & case workers
Hairdressers
Maintenance workers

This joined up and coordinated approach provides a complete solution and is invaluable to family members and friends that can't be with their loved ones but who want to know that they are safe and well. Dementia Care -
Over 60% of the people we help and support have dementia. Our dementia care team are very aware of the impact that dementia has on those who have the disease and the loved ones, family and friends that surround them. With thoughtful management and informed insight it is very possible to reduce the anxiety and stress of those with dementia. This can make a positive difference to how they live their lives and how it affects those around them. Live in care -
If you are looking for exceptional quality live in care in in Surrey, in the Guildford, Woking and Leatherhead areas, we can provide a tailor made live-in care solution that meets your needs, whilst remaining in the comfort and familiarity of your own home. Whether you are thinking about short term respite following a stay in hospital, or help on a long term basis due to general ill health, disability or lack of mobility we will listen to what you would like and then help you to achieve it. A member of the Home Counties Carers team will meet with you to provide a no obligation initial assessment at your home or in hospital. Once we understand your needs and preferences we can agree what level of support is required and then select the best carer from our team to who best meets these. As with all our carers we only recruit those that are:
Friendly
Reliable
Trustworthy
Competent

If you have any questions about our live in care services in Surrey, or would like to arrange an assessment please call 01483 224 985. Personal Home Care -
We feel strongly that our clients are supported with their personal home care needs to enable them to take the lead role whilst our carers are there as a reassuring presence. We feel that supporting rather than doing where possible promotes their independence and dignity. Our carers will be on hand to assist and support with:
Bathing
Showering
Washing
Toileting
Oral hygiene
Continence care
Catheter management
Grooming
Shaving
Application of creams

Post operative care and Convalescence -
Recovering from an operation and can be a slow and frustrating process. It is quite common for people to try to return to a normal active life only to aggravate the healing process and prolong the period of post operative care and convalescence. Putting a support package in place pre-operatively can aid a smooth and full recovery. In addition to the normal tasks our Carers perform on a daily basis they can be trained and taught to deal with specific needs post op, for example:
Helping with exercises
Managing equipment
Assistance with medication

Equally they can do the more day to day tasks that might get overlooked, for example:
Preparing meals for the family
Running errands
Collecting the children from school
Washing and ironing

Respite Care -
Respite care in the form of highly professional home care on a temporary, short-term basis, is a very important part of the personal home care equation. Respite care allows those who are caring for family members or relatives in their home to take a valuable break from their caring duties - this is often of considerable benefit to the health and well-being of the caregiver. At Home Counties Carers we take great pride in providing respite caregivers who can blend seamlessly into the caring routine of the home, quickly getting to know the care receiver and taking over the routine of the permanent carer. Home Counties Carers can provide professional carers from 1 hour a day right through to longer periods such as 1 or 2 weeks at a time. As with all our care packages we will undertake an initial care package assessment to get a fuller understanding of what the situation is and to listen to what the client would like from their support package. Commonly carers like to take a few hours a week to get out of the house, meet friends, attend appointments, do some shopping, getting their hair done and generally take a well earned break. It helps enormously knowing that whilst they are out there is a friendly, reliable, trustworthy and caring person looking after their loved one, keeping them safe and comfortable in surroundings that they know. Our services are nothing new; itโ€™s the personalised way we deliver them that makes us different. We provide continuity of carers so the client is always visited by a friendly carer who they know, like and trust. All new carers are introduced and spend some time with their clients before they carry out their first home care visit. All our carers are trained and vetted to the highest standards.

Taren and Lauren are at The Managers Conference 2026 this week ๐Ÿ“

Hosted by the National Care Forum and Skills for Care, the event brings together managers from across the country to share knowledge, learn from each other and discuss the challenges and opportunities within Adult Social Care.

With a programme of conference sessions, workshops and panel discussions, it's a fantastic opportunity to connect with others in the sector and bring back new ideas to support our teams and the people we care for.

Investing in learning and collaboration like this helps ensure we continue striving to provide the highest quality care for the people we support ๐Ÿ’š

Do you or someone you know use a telecare alarm?

Landline phones are switching to digital, which could stop telecare alarms working. Contact your landline provider. They will help make sure alarms keep working through the switchover ๐Ÿ‘‡

Do you or someone you know use a telecare alarm to summon help in an emergency, such as a falls alarm, pendant or watch?

Landlines are switching from analogue to digital which could stop such devices from working. But landline providers can help - call yours for support now and let them know you're a telecare user.

Yesterday we said a heartfelt thank you to Ingrid as she left Home Counties Carers ๐Ÿ’

Ingrid joined us right at the very beginning, in 2011, and has been such an important part of our journey from day one. Her loyalty, dedication and truly inspiring passion for what we do have shone through in everything she has done over the years ๐Ÿ’š

Her commitment to delivering outstanding care, and the kindness and support she showed to colleagues and clients alike, have helped shape who we are today. She has truly made a lasting difference to so many people ๐Ÿฅฐ

Lu and Matt hosted a lovely leaving lunch in Ingrid's honour. Kasia created the most amazing tulip cake for Ingrid ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒท The meringues were pretty special too! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Ingrid was also presented with a photo album filled with memories from the past 14 years ๐Ÿ“ธ A small reminder of the many moments, milestones and friendships she has been such a big part of โœจ

Ingrid, thank you for everything you have given. We are so grateful for the years you spent with us and for the impact you've made. We wish you every happiness and success for the future ๐Ÿ˜˜
