MORE FOAL PROGRESS
And another photo at 10 days old of the one with no name.
Since I have discovered that the toothless one bites everything in sight to help progress the emergence of the real teeth (why else would he do that?) I have worked on teaching him behaviours that will appeal to humans.

He has learnt that people are not very chewy and do not want to return his grooming favours. To add to this useful knowledge he has helped me put on and take off a small headcollar this morning.

Yesterday an admiring visitor sent me a list of potential foal names for the nameless one. The visitor claimed wrongly that one of her choices was the brightest star in the sky which I know is actually Sirius.

I know this, as Sirius was the place where the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation was located in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy -which is how so many of my of my ponies got their names!

No I haven't got a name yet, but have just spent half an hour giggling at the book again while the clouds opened and Don't Panic raced under cover.

Jebeth Don't Panic Again won her Veteran class at Edenbridge and Oxted show on Sunday. The commentator sounded rather amused at her name which is a first!

You may remember that Panic and Spot have both managed to be eliminated in their respective disciplines in the past 18 months.

Sunday was good for Panic and shows we have learnt from our previous mistakes. She had a run round before we left just after 6am, and munched her way through the best bits of the 3 haynets in front of her in the lorry during the course of the day.

We all enjoyed the day, avoided the traffic, met lots of nice people and the weather was just right for a change!

Stan had qualified for the novice bronze, they did a good test but with a few mistakes, but managed to come in 2nd out of 25 on 68.72%, they managed highest placed under 21 and qualified for championships in october! So pleased with them, this was their first time at areas doing novice. Jebeth Sunspot last Sunday on Merristwood's new outside arena doing his BD Novice test. In the indoors Prelim test he followed a 17.1+ horse -- quite amusing the largest horse of the day followed by the smallest! Spot got just over 64% in both tests and behaved well in the warm up arena. We were very pleased Spot was good in the new environment. A very high standard and he wasn't last!
