This pragmatic randomised controlled trial compared homeopathic and conventional primary paediatric care for acute illnesses in children from birth to 24 months, with conventional medicine used as a safety back-up in the homeopathic group when medically indicated.

Among 108 infants in India, those receiving homeopathic care experienced significantly fewer sick days, fewer illness episodes—particularly respiratory infections—required fewer antibiotics, and incurred lower treatment costs than those in conventional care. Children in the homeopathic group were also taller, though not heavier, over the study period.

Overall, the findings suggest that homeopathy, integrated with conventional medicine for safety, may be a safe, effective, and cost-efficient primary care approach in the first two years of life.

A four-month double-blind, randomised trial involving sixty patients with chronic low-back pain found that individualised homeopathic medicines led to greater improvements than placebo across all major pain and disability measures, including the Oswestry and Roland-Morris questionnaires and the McGill Pain Questionnaire.

Frequently prescribed remedies included Rhus toxicodendron, Bryonia alba, Hypericum perforatum, and Nux vomica. Only minor adverse events were noted, suggesting homeopathy may offer a beneficial complementary option for chronic low-back pain, though further independent studies are needed.

Happy New Year from Organised Mind! Let 2026 be the year to learn about retained primitive reflexes, especially if you have a child who struggles with sensory processing, behaviour problems, anxiety, focus, attention and so much more, or if you struggle with these issues as an adult. I can help by assessing where reflexes are retained and then providing a bespoke movement program that evolves month on month as we encourage those reflexes to integrate. We work together as a team and things will improve and life will get easier!

I also offer training for therapists, teachers and parents www.OrganisedMind.co.uk

Come along and learn all about primitive reflexes! Whether you’re a therapist, a teacher or a parent of children who struggle, an understanding of primitive reflexes can be absolutely life changing. If you’re dealing with anxiety, behavioural problems, aggression, issues around focus & attention, emotional regulation, musculoskeletal issues, academic problems, retained primitive reflexes can make all of these problems worse. This two day course covers the theory of reflex integration, the symptoms of each reflex, how to identify each retained reflex and then movements to encourage them to integrate. You should leave feeling confident in what you’ve learned and going forward, I host monthly CPD sessions with live cases to see how reflex integration works in practice. Plus it’s really good fun https://www.organisedmind.co.uk/primitive-reflex-integration-training-uk

This is a great post from the Faculty of Homeopathy - qualified doctors who are also qualified homeopaths. People are worried about the flu and homeopathy has some great solutions

Snapping at anyone who dares to disturb you…

You shiver under the blankets.
Every draft cuts to the bone. Every sound feels unbearable.
Someone hums softly in the next room, and irritation flashes through you.
Noise, light, and odors pierce your senses.
Even a simple question feels like an intrusion.
You long to be left completely alone, craving silence and warmth that never quite reach you.

This is the Nux vomica state, the flu that makes you cold, tense, and irritable to the core.
Your head feels as if the skull would burst.
Your body burns with fever, yet the moment you uncover, the shivering chill returns. The nose runs by day, blocks by night.

Sleep is broken; you wake around 3 a.m., restless and unrefreshed.
And then the stomach: sour, cramping, full of pressure and unease.
You feel nauseated, especially after eating or drinking coffee.
The abdomen feels tight, bloated, and sensitive to touch.
Every part of you protests.
Every stimulus feels too much.
Worse in the early morning, from cold air, drafts, or uncovering.
Worse after coffee and alcohol.
Even emotions disturb, anger, disappointment, mental strain.
Everything provokes, even kindness can feel like irritation.
This is the flu of tension and oversensitivity,
the unmistakable picture of Nux vomica.

In homeopathy, the focus is never on the virus itself,
but on the person who is experiencing it.
On how the illness expresses itself through your unique state, your sensations, your emotions.

Two people may have the same flu, yet need different remedies, even when they share similar symptoms, their inner experience is never quite the same.

Next week, we’ll explore another homeopathic remedy,
one that expresses influenza in a completely different way.
