BLACK BELT …. 1ST DAN. 🖤🥋

After 25 years away from competing in Judo, I stepped back onto the mat at the end of October 2025 and on 10th January 2026, I achieved my Black Belt, 1st Dan.

It’s been hard work, balance, commitment and proof that as a mum of four in my 40s, it’s never too late to start (or restart). I must hold the longest record of 28 years as a 1st Kyu (brown belt) 🤣

Recovery and self-care have been just as important as the training, looking after my body so I could keep showing up, improving, and pushing forward.

I’m incredibly proud and honoured that my husband Jason (Head Coach of Pinewood Judo Club) presented me with my black belt at the club where my judo journey began at just 9 years old and also having Karen Roberts Castle present to say some lovely words means so much to me!

So grateful for the support of my friends, family, and everyone who believed in me along the way.
This one means everything. 🖤
