Their presentation was informative, personal, and shared some really valuable statistics and insights for our support workers to make reasonable adjustments for the individuals we support. 🤝

As it is autism awareness month, we feel it's important to share the concept of the 'double empathy problem'. Often, people see the struggles of autism as "their problem, not ours".

This is not true.

Issues are more likely due to a breakdown in reciprocity and mutual understanding that happens between people with differing ways of experiencing the world.
