Winter Solstice altar. I made this using herbs, spices, salt, tree resins and greenery from my garden 🦉🤍

~ A little TCM pick me up for cold, dark days when your Qi needs some Love ~ In TCM the ears are the sense organ connected to the Kidneys. They are also a Microsystem; the whole body mapped out in a smaller landscape. Massaging and rubbing them will give your Qi an instant pick me up. Perfect for Winter days when we have more darkness than light. I massage with a firm pressure in front and behind the ears and then give them a squeeze, again with firm pressure. If you usually reach for that afternoon espresso as a pick me up, try this instead and see how you feel. Solstice blessings to you all, the dial keeps turning and after this moment of deep pause the Sun is reborn. Hope. Wishing you all a peaceful festive period. Love and gentleness, Omie ☯️

~ Steamed orange with sesame seed oil ~ The perfect TCM Winter tonic when your body needs some extra support; great for sore throats, coughs and supporting the Lungs. Cut the top off your orange, run a knife around the flesh inside separating the flesh from the peel, pour over a tablespoon of black sesame seed oil. Reattach the top by using some cocktail sticks and steam for 20 mins. Allow to cool a little and eat whilst still hot. Black sesame oil is wonderful for helping to nourish the Kidneys and Liver, supporting the Blood and our Jing stored in the Kidneys. Steamed organge helps to moisten the Lungs and break up phlegm ☯️

~ Big thank you, big rest ~ As the year draws to a close and I wrap up my last working day in my practice for the year I can’t help but feel reflective. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has visited me this year, who has engaged with the medicine and taken it out into their lives and homes, who have told people about me and recommended my services to others and have just generally been kind and lovely to work with, thank you. So much has changed in my life since 2019 and I’m very grateful this medicine has been my anchor as well as Nature. It continues to inspire me and helps me to find Joy and clarity even when things have felt very heavy and they have felt so heavy these past few years. I am signing off at the end of today for some much needed rest and looking forward to honouring the Winter Solstice on Sunday. A deep exhale will probably appear from my lungs, letting everything go and burning everything down in a big fire ready to be born again with the return of the Sun. Whatever you shall be doing over the Yule period I wish you peace, gentleness and hope you can find some time to be in Nature. See you in 2026. Love and gentleness, Omie 🙏🤍☯️ (If you need to contact me re: appointments please email me or drop me a message but it may take me longer to reply after today).

~ Moxa and Ginger ~ My clients have been loving the warmth from me using this lovely combination on them especially on the Ren Mai. It’s so important to keep your inner Yang protected during the Winter months. Many people I’m seeing are burnt out, feeling exhausted and having a detox. Seasonal detoxes are needed and our body goes through this natural mechanism just as we see in Nature. Symptoms are messengers, they provide vital feedback about our internal landscape. My invitation is always the same; look to Nature. Nature isn’t in an outwardly growth period, she’s tucking roots deeply into the Earth, conserving energy and allowing things to compost and gestate over the coming months. A lot of our dis-ease stems from living in the modern world where we don’t honour the cyclical nature of life. We push against it and push it down but deep within we know what we need. I’m here this week providing nurturing sessions of Acupuncture, Cupping, Moxibustion and Reflexology. Please be in touch before the end of the week if you would like an appointment with me in the new year as I’ll be taking some time away over the festive period to rest and be in Nature. Sending lots of love, Omie ☯️

What a lovely surprise in the post this afternoon! Recognition of my 10 years of membership to the Association of Reglexologists (AoR). It’s been lovely to take a moment to recognise the journey I’ve been on since qualifying, working evenings and weekends around a full time job and volunteering at a local hospice, to where I am and my practice is today. I started out learning about the art of Japanese Reiki and Reflexology and really wanting to learn more about the energetics of health and healing. Here I am today a TCM Acupuncturist who works with Microsystems with a huge love and passion for Chinese Medicine and Reflexology. Thank you to the AoR for this kind gesture and thank you to all the people who have trusted me over the years to support them on their spiritual and healing journeys 🤍☯️

Last week in my practice of 2025! I’ve been fortunate to experience some amazing growth, lessons and realisations in my work this year. I am really beginning to not only imagine how I want my practice to feel going forward but how I want to be able to feel and live within it. My love of Nature and the deep wisdom it holds continues to be the anchor in my work and life, I am so grateful that I embarked on a journey of being a life long student of Chinese Medicine. I remember years ago during an astrology reading I was informed that Acupuncture would be a great profession for me and I remember thinking I would love that but it’s not possible. Not only has it been possible it’s changed my life, changed me, in the best ways that sometimes I can’t put words to. I am looking forward to the future and seeing where this medicine will take me. Thank you to everyone who has visited me this year and engaged with the medicine. It creates ripples in peoples lives and I will never tire of bearing witness to that. In gratitude, Omie 🤍🙏☯️
