If you're walking through the cemetery for a bit of spooky fun, or to visit more houses for some sweet treats, please note that the cemetery gates close at 5:30pm. It's getting darker earlier now so we may not see you! It's no treat getting locked in. Trust us... 👻

If anybody has lost a small drone somewhere over the cemetery, we have good news and bad news. The good news is we have it safely stored for collection. The bad news is that it’s taken some damage. We’re at the cemetery tomorrow, Wednesday 29th October, from about 9.30am until 12.30pm.

Help us to keep the cemetery tidy and safe for our wildlife! Just hours after our last big litter pick, handfuls of litter appeared on the main routes through the cemetery. Common litter: flower feed (easy to drop by accident), plastic wrap, food wrappers, bottles and takeaway cups, alcohol tins and miniatures, cig butts and empty cig packets. Also an easy one to drop by accident but can be harmful to little feet - rubber bands. Thank you!

Did you know, fallen leaves are essential for wildlife. 🍂 They shelter insects, frogs, and hedgehogs through winter.

Let’s keep the leaves litter-free to protect these crucial ecosystems. 💚

Help our Hedgies out by not bringing your pumpkin pals to the cemetery!

While some wildlife will go nutty for them, hedgehogs can be made seriously ill from ingesting pumpkin, which is not what they need right before they hibernate as they may not make it! The pumpkins also get kicked around, so volunteers have to pick up and dispose of the bits.

Stick em in your compost bins or make pumpkin soup instead. Thank you! 🎃

REMINDER: CEMETERY WINTER OPENING TIMES COMMENCE WEDNESDAY 1 OCTOBER 2025.

This is a reminder that on Wednesday 1st October, we are changing to our winter closing times. The cemetery gates will close at 5:30pm.
