Hello you wonderful people. As you were no doubt aware, last week was Mental Health Awareness week and it occurred to me that not only have I not written for ages, but I very much want to create something that could make a difference.

So, I've decided to create a course with a little bit of a twist. Basically, I'm starting a community course, next week on May 30th at 3pm on Zoom for 9 different sessions that should help transform your life for the better and build self-confidence whilst taking away the anxieties that we are all plagued with today.

It's called the Get a Grip Formula where you'll be given exercises to help create peace of mind and teach you to be in charge of how you see the world and how it treats you as a result.

If this sounds like something that could interest you, let me know. Tell me what you would like see in there. It would be nice if we could cover exactly what you're looking for.

I'm sharing this from my friend Paul Angus simply because it's fascinating and also helpful.

Wow- very interesting....Everyone should read šŸ™‚
ONIONS! I had never heard this!!!
PLEASE READ TO THE END: IMPORTANT
In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu...
Many of the farmers and their families had contracted it and many died.
The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.
Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser. She said that several years ago, many of her employees were coming down with the flu, and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.
Now there is a P. S. to this for I sent it to a friend in Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues. She replied with this most interesting experience about onions:
Thanks for the reminder. I don't know about the farmer's story...but, I do know that I contacted pneumonia, and, needless to say, I was very ill... I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put it into an empty jar, and place the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel better.
Another thing I read in the article was that onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.
This is the other note. Lots of times when we have stomach problems we don't know what to blame. Maybe it's the onions that are to blame. Onions absorb bacteria is the reason they are so good at preventing us from getting colds and flu and is the very reason we shouldn't eat an onion that has been sitting for a time after it has been cut open.
LEFT OVER ONIONS ARE POISONOUS
I had the wonderful privilege of touring Mullins Food Products, Makers of mayonnaise. Questions about food poisoning came up, and I wanted to share what I learned from a chemist.
Ed, who was our tour guide, is a food chemistry whiz. During the tour, someone asked if we really needed to worry about mayonnaise. People are always worried that mayonnaise will spoil. Ed's answer will surprise you. Ed said that all commercially-made mayo is completely safe.
"It doesn't even have to be refrigerated. No harm in refrigerating it, but it's not really necessary." He explained that the pH in mayonnaise is set at a point that bacteria could not survive in that environment. He then talked about the summer picnic, with the bowl of potato salad sitting on the table, and how everyone blames the mayonnaise when someone gets sick.
Ed says that, when food poisoning is reported, the first thing the officials look for is when the 'victim' last ate ONIONS and where those onions came from (in the potato salad?). Ed says it's not the mayonnaise (as long as it's not homemade mayo) that spoils in the outdoors. It's probably the ONIONS, and if not the onions, it's the POTATOES.
He explained onions are a huge magnet for bacteria, especially uncooked onions. You should never plan to keep a portion of a sliced onion.. He says it's not even safe if you put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in your refrigerator.
It's already contaminated enough just by being cut open and out for a bit, that it can be a danger to you (and doubly watch out for those onions you put in your hotdogs at the baseball park!). Ed says if you take the leftover onion and cook it like crazy you'll probably be okay, but if you slice that leftover onion and put on your sandwich, you're asking for trouble. Both the onions and the moist potato in a potato salad, will attract and grow bacteria faster than any commercial mayonnaise will even begin to break down.
Also, dogs should never eat onions. Their stomachs cannot metabolize onions.
Please remember it is dangerous to cut an onion and try to use it to cook the next day, it becomes highly poisonous for even a single night and creates toxic bacteria which may cause adverse stomach infections because of excess bile secretions and even food poisoning.
Please pass this on to all you love and care about.

Clearing the clutter in your mind:

I’ve been away for a few days, for my Birthday, which was lovely, and I thank you all for sending so many kind messages.

That being said, it’s amazing what a bit of R and R can do for your mind.

It would be an understatement to say that I wasn’t stressed before I left. After all, Christmas is just around the corner and there’s a lot to get done before then. I’ve no doubt you can relate to that.

One thing, however, that I’ve learnt from my self-development course is the means of shutting down the negative thoughts running through my brain and rebooting in order to appreciate the here and now.

1. What I realised was that I’m worrying about things that haven’t yet happened and that I should stop complaining to myself about something that may or may not come true.

2. As a result, I was able to shut out the negative noise and decide to live in the moment and appreciate the relaxing time that lay before me.

Don’t get me wrong it took me a couple of days, but having learnt to listen to my thoughts, I was at least able to make the decision that they were not serving my purpose.

Once I realised that, I began to enjoy my time away knowing that I fully deserved every minute.

When I got back home, I was on yet another different plain, because my mind had decided that I am now ready to take on whatever I can, in order to have the best Christmas ever.

Learning to take responsibility for every little thing that happens to you is an enlightening lesson.

I now seem to have got rid of any of the fear that I was suffering from the things may not work out as planned.

Learning to be grateful for everything that you’ve already got, in turn gives you the confidence to take on the unknown and this feeling grows exponentially.

You’ve no idea how releasing it is, to let go of what isn’t working for you, simply by making that decision.

I therefore hope you are all doing well and getting ready for a wonderful and well deserved Christmas break.

Please feel free to like and share this with anyone who may benefit from my experiences.

Yet another interest rate rise?

What does this actually mean for us?

Basically, we are now faced with higher energy prices, (regardless of whether they’re claiming to reduce them slightly in the near future), constantly increasing grocery prices and now, the cost of having a mortgage simply because you need somewhere you can call your home, has gone up yet again.

I tell you what this actually means.

šŸ”„āš”ļøSTRESS šŸ™†ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ’„

We are bombarded with constant negative news which in turn creates a society that finds it harder to cope, (and easier to manipulate).

I believe there are ways to combat this without necessarily having to change our lifestyle and it’s worth our while to give it a go.

Therefore, this weekend I want you to try and let go.

• Switch off the news.
• Look at and listen to nothing except that which makes you happy.
• Do what You want. Treat yourself.
• Think about how you want your life to be and what you can do bring that about.
• Smile at someone and make their day.

These little things may sound futile and slightly ridiculous but if you can concentrate on how you would like your life to actually be, without the negative bombardment that surrounds us, you’d be surprised at the good things that show up.

Don’t let the news or your environment control your life. You decide what’s best for you.

Just practice over the weekend and let me know how you get on in the comments.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and it would be completely remiss of me to let this go by without bringing it to your attention.

Although this week makes sure that we are more aware than usual, it shouldn’t in fact be any different from any other week.

2 things should be at the forefront of our minds regardless of the attention being drawn to it during this period.

1. Take the time to look after yourself
2. Look out for others that could do with a pick-me-up

What I’ve learnt over the last 6 months is that no-one is immune from the stresses that life brings and thus we all suffer from some sort of mental health problem at some point or another. Whether we like to admit or not.

It’s what we do with that knowledge that matters.

This week is there to highlight that it’s time to look into yourself and acknowledge whatever is going through your head and accept that you could do with a bit of help.

Not only that but if you know others who could do with an olive branch, reach out to them too.

Until now, I have spent my life bumbling along, thinking I was doing okay and not realising how I had let the outside world take over my day-to-day existence.

Once you understand that you can change your negative thoughts despite what’s going on around you, your life can begin to alter dramatically. Suddenly the previous stresses and strains become clearer and easier to manage.

What I’ve found out about me and the limitations that I had imposed on myself doesn’t bare thinking about. However, since I’ve learnt how to control my thoughts, I’m not only coming from a much happier place, but I’ve found that I’m therefore in a better position to help others.

And this is the week for it.

If you’d like to find out more about how to gain true Peace of Mind and how to wake up every morning with a smile on your face – then let this be the week you start to take care of yourself and go for it.

It's amazing what can happen when you change your thinking 🤩.

I'm finding out that there's so much more to be grateful about than to moan about and trust me, if you'd seen me this weekend, you would debate that šŸ˜….

I had a lovely weekend planned that I was so looking forward to and my back decided to seize up. I could hardly walk.

Normally, I would have felt really sorry for myself, taken the victim mode and thinking me, me, me. Outwardly complaining about my situation and waiting for sympathy from others.

However, I actually spent some time asking my inner body and mind to work together in order that I might become more mobile and not focus on my plight.

To say that this worked is an understatement and taught me that once you embrace yourself, the outer world complies.

Have you ever had a situation where all you want to do is scream and hope someone or something else will come along to help you?

I realised that at the end of the day, it's down to you. What you make of any situation be it good or bad is down to your own perception.

My back is still not feeling perfect but what do know is that my weekend was, despite it.

I am forever going to be grateful for learning what is needed in times of crisis and not to panic or to make it all about me.

Please feel free to share any experiences you may have had, where life handed you something completely unexpected. I look forward to hearing about it.

Life has been crap for most of us recently, building up over the last few years.

We’ve been bombarded with negativity from every corner, from Covid to the war in Ukraine and to top it all off very few people are escaping the need to scrimp and save due to the exorbitant and seemingly constant rise in the cost of living.

It’s no wonder our mental health is suffering from an all-time high.

This is why I’ve been looking at programme after programme in order to not only help myself get through these tough times, but so that I can share my discoveries with others in order that they might, in turn help themselves.

As a result, I have been working on myself big-time and found a programme that is having such a profound affect on me, that I’m hoping to share my progress so that you too become aware of my transformation.

As you are already aware I am open to many different forms of mental health improvement, hence whilst my main objective is still on improving mental health and creating peace of mind, I am also open to alternatives such as the oils that I told you about last week.

To that end I intend to start an open journal detailing my experiences to date and as I go along I am looking for people to comment so that I become accountable.

This is a bit scary for me, but I have realised that this new programme is teaching me exactly what my own limitations have been and thus how to come out the other side, which will hopefully result in me sharing useful information, that may help you too, whatever your circumstances.

I think we all know that most of the time stuff put out on social media shows the life we want people to think we have more than the one we actually have.

I’ve been guilty of that! I also know there’s times I’ve been inspired by some posts that people have shared, and so I thought I might try to pay it forward with some of the lessons I learn here too in the hope they may inspire you or just brighten your day.

I've started a new journey... By sharing my journey with all of you, I hope to stay accountable and inspired.

Have any of you been on a similar path? I'm all ears.

If anyone would like to find out more, or are suffering from any of the usual conditions like; Insomnia, headaches, Arthritis, PMS, Hot Flushes, eczema, Indigestion, anxiety, stress, etc. etc.... I would be happy to send you a FREE sample to use in return for your valued feedback!

Please just comment below and I will send you a private message with more info...

I personally have had great results using one of the oils to help with my indigestion problems.

Who knew, that just rubbing some oil on your body would have such an effect.
