I hold certifications in Trauma-Informed Coaching & Breathwork Facilitation, which I am very proud of. I paid for them myself by downsizing my home š commitment).
My clients have been mainly mature females. Often, business owners & career women who are the linchpin, the crucial element that holds their business & family lives together. They have worried about burnout, now they fear it.
They are beginning to realise that the high standards they have set themselves in business have swamped their personal life.
What started as People Pleasing has become Perfectionism, & the standards they hold themselves to are so much higher than they expect of anyone else.
I was that People Pleaser/Perfectionist. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s in Corporate Britain. The people I worked with were my family. They came to both my weddings; supported my through the breakdown of the first marriage & the sudden death of my 2nd Husband.
Then they all vanished when I fell into the deepest & darkest breakdown.
Everything I had in me was burnt to the ground.
I barely existed for three years.
My bounce back started with stopping smoking, then tackling the eating disorder that had had no brakes during the breakdown. Learning so much about my body & brain was invigorating and inspiring. After a year, the coach I was working with offered me a job!
Guiding & mentoring other women dealing with and coming to terms with disordered eating patterns, unhelpful habits, & coping mechanisms was fabulous. Watching them grow into who they were meant to be before years & generations of conditioning & advertisingā¦
I started to research coaching certifications AND talked to over 200 women who had dealt with disordered eating, depression, anxiety, stress & shame. I was kinda surprised (& kinda not) that 93% of them identified themselves as People Pleasers.
So that is where I started - reading, studying & creating a Trauma-Informed Program designed specifically for People Pleasers
Fast-forward to now &
- I KNOW now that I was NEVER Broken - and nor are you
- I am now SURE that resilience is a muscle that needs training
- I am calm in the knowledge that my mission/path/purpose (whatever you wanna call it) is what I have created to bring me hope. Hope is so so valuable.
- I am clear that my life is completely my responsibility.
- I CHOOSE to express myself with purple/blue/red hair depending on my mood
In addition to Coaching, I look after my Self, my mother, and my rescue dog. I am somewhat physically disabled. My hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, counted cross-stitch and yarn-work.
