Worcester Physiotherapy Clinic was set up to offer specialist care for a spread of conditions and injuries. We are a highly qualified, highly experienced and highly friendly team of health professionals with the sole aim of helping you get back to your old self! So no gimmicks, no sales pitches, and no lies! We want to be completely transparent and honest throughout your care. That’s why we’ve created a team of experts and a catalogue of trusted partners, to provide you with the best care possible, and to achieve the results you want! To maintain the HIGHEST standards, our Physio's work along side other roles as an Advanced Physiotherapist within the NHS, as a 1st team Physio in Professional Sport, and as a Womens Health Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in one of London's biggest Hospitals. This work-balance strategy gives us the most up-to-date training and evidence, providing you with the most effective care and management. It also means no matter how rare or obscure your issue is, we've no doubt dealt with it before!! Our bias towards Sport and Performance is evident through the success stories of some of our clients, just see some of our testimonials/reviews to get an idea of how we can help. We also work alongside local teams providing workshops, functional screening & monitoring, and courses to help best prepare Sports men and women (young & old) to reduce the risk of injury AND improve Performance in their Sport. Despite our bias we specialise in a range of non-sporting conditions and injuries, including Back pain/Sciatica, Osteoarthritis, Frozen shoulder and Pelvic floor issues, to name just a few. Your Initial Consultation will be personal to you and will determine what you want from us. With our detailed and highly skilled Assessment skills we will look to develop a clinical diagnosis, and provide you with all the relevant information, including what your recovery pathway will look like. We’re big believers of fixing the problem, and not just making it feel better, so you won’t catch us blindly treating until we have a much better understanding of your problem! And we'll talk you through the whole process so you have a better understanding too (Step 1 is always 'Understand the Problem'). We then have access to a variety of treatment and rehabilitation techniques to start your recovery which again will be personalised to you and your condition. Movement Options 🏋🏼‍♀️

Although a Rehab plan might include very targetted exercises for your issue, the truth is there’s no PERFECT exercise.

I always say it matters more about HOW you do it, rather than WHAT you do.

The volume, the frequency, and the effort matters most.

Get those things wrong and it doesn’t really matter how fancy your exercises are.

Top tips:
- Find exercises that are comfortable and just work hard
- The body likes change…so remember to mix up your movements.
- Remove the barriers to doing them; find it easier at home? Then let’s choose movements to do there!
- Keep it simple…sexy isn’t always best!

What you experience between different services can vary widely, so here’s what you expect from seeing one of our Physios:

- We listen…We want to understand what’s happened and what you’re feeling.

- We assess…we perform a variety of tests to highlight the root cause of your symptoms.

- We treat…if it’s required we’ll use hands-on treatment to get some short term relief.

- We rehab…we’ll then walk you through a personalised plan designed to target your issue.

How Exercises relate to Real Life 💪

Squat? Just a heavy Sit-to-Stand!
Farmers Carry? Just heavy shopping bags!
Deadlift? Just a heavy lift from the ground!
Shoulder Press? Just a hardcore Rave!

Although sometimes the link isn’t obvious, exercises have a purpose and a meaning.

Isometric Exercise Variations 💪

Isometric Exercises are simply holding a static contraction or effort for a period of time.

You may have even performed an isometric exercise and either not realised or wondered why (most common being a wall squat and a plank)

It can be a fantastic training method following injury or if you’re new to an exercise, and is typically a safe way to still work hard.

Holding the contraction for 30+ secs will be sure to stimulate some fatigue, which in turn produces future adaptations in the tissues.

Try mixing your training up, or manage those niggles better, by introducing some isometrics in your gym routine.
