Meet Harriet 👋
Harriet has lived with painful endometriosis for 23 years and undergone five surgeries to treat the condition, including the removal of one of her ovaries.

Now, during Endometriosis Action Month, Harriet wants to ‘give back’ to our team who supported her through her diagnosis and treatment.

Musician Harriet, is joining forces with other local musicians to host a special concert raising funds for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity in aid of the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Harriet said: “I have been so well looked after that I wanted to find some way to not only give something back, but also to raise the profile of this awful condition.”

🚨🗞 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒: Thousands of women could receive an earlier and safer diagnosis for endometriosis if a new clinical trial at our hospitals proves successful.

The clinical trial is the first in the NHS to study the accuracy of a new test to detect endometriosis without requiring surgery, which could transform the way the condition is diagnosed.

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, but can take years to be diagnosed and surgery is usually required to confirm a diagnosis.

𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭?
We're now looking for more women with no history of pelvic pain aged 18 - 50 years old to take part in the trial, evaluating a new type of test where sensors are placed on the abdomen to read the unique signal caused by the presence of endometriosis.

The study will take a number of months for our research team to fully review all the findings, with the results potentially allowing the new test to replace surgery as the gold standard tool for diagnosing endometriosis across the NHS.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025 🎄

A huge huge thank you to all my patients, past, present and future that continue to book appointments with Laura May Physio. Another year of been blown away with how busy we are, I still count my blessings every day. The website and online bookings have been a godsend - why didn’t I do it sooner? 🙈

A very merry thank you to Rachel, Charlotte and Helen for all the hours they do in the clinic and I love nothing more than seeing their diaries filling up. It’s been wonderful having you all in the team, long may it continue.
Thank you to RachelVA for the endless voice notes I send you and all the jobs you do for me as I hate them so much! Another year of working together!

I feel like we’ve been plagued by so may illnesses this year, my husbands surgery, then my little operation too, I am very much looking forward to some quality family time and this year we are finally UP NORTH again!

Despite being something half the population will experience, menopause is still misunderstood, under-discussed, and under-supported. It’s time to change that.

Every September, Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month shines a vital spotlight on the five types of gynaecological cancers that affect thousands of women every year.

These are cancers that start in the womb (uterus), ovaries, cervix, v***a, and va**na and while they’re not always easy to talk about, starting the conversation can save lives.

This month is about raising awareness, improving early detection, supporting those affected and breaking the stigma that too often surrounds gynaecological health.

I am now out of office until the 26th of August and I will aim to reply to any enquiries during that week.
