After lots of practice, our lovely residents took part in a fun-filled day of games including hover ball, bowling and tennis, along with showing off their skills in dance ribbons, mini basketball and arm pedal cycling.

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and team spirit throughout the day, making it a really enjoyable way to stay active and support wellbeing.

We finished with a joyful closing ceremony, complete with cheering and golden pom-poms which was a lovely way to celebrate everyone’s efforts 🎉

St Patrick’s Day Fun and Creativity 🍀🎨

At our home, St Patrick’s Day was filled with laughter, imagination and togetherness as residents came together to celebrate in their own special way. The day began with a lively themed game of bingo, where excitement filled the room and lucky winners were delighted with their golden chocolate prizes 🍫💜

As the celebrations continued, residents explored their creative side through free flowing, mindful drawing and painting. With no rules and plenty of inspiration, beautiful artwork began to take shape, each piece reflecting personality, memories and joy. These creations were then used to design a fun and engaging game, helping to gently support mobility and coordination while keeping spirits high 🎨💜

Stories of mythical leprechauns and their hidden pots of gold sparked conversation and laughter, bringing a touch of magic to the day. Our ladies fully embraced the occasion, smiling and laughing as they tried on the leprechaun’s hat and enjoyed every moment of the celebration together 🍀💜

It was a day full of warmth, creativity and connection, creating memories that will be treasured by all 💜✨

At St Stephen's Care Home , Mother’s Day unfolded as a truly heart-warming story of togetherness, where every moment was filled with love, laughter, and celebration 🌸

As the afternoon began, our home gently transformed with the scent and colour of fresh flowers, as our residents carefully arranged beautiful blooms to decorate the tables 💐 Each arrangement told its own story, created with care, pride, and a shared desire to make the day feel extra special

Soon, the room filled with the soft, enchanting sounds of the Cradley Hand Belles 🔔, as the talented group of ladies performed for us, bringing smiles, nostalgia, and a sense of calm joy to everyone watching. The atmosphere then lifted even higher as the White Ladies Aston singing group joined us 🎶, encouraging everyone to sing along, tap to the rhythm, and even pick up percussion instruments. Laughter echoed, voices grew stronger, and for a while, the whole room felt like one big family celebration 😁

As the celebrations gently came to a close, our ladies sat back and enjoyed their own boxes of sweet chocolate treats 🍫, sharing smiles and quiet moments of happiness after such a joyful afternoon

It was more than just a celebration… it was a day of creating memories, sharing music, and honouring the incredible mothers who bring so much warmth and love to our home 💟

Our Chinese New Year of the Horse celebrations were filled with creativity, culture, and unforgettable moments 🐎✨
One of the highlights of the week was designing and creating magnificent dragon and horse dance costumes. Residents worked together to decorate and assemble the costumes, watching with pride as their hard work transformed into vibrant festival attire ready for the big performance 🐲🎭

Throughout the week we also made cherry blossom lanterns and homemade musical instruments, filling our home with colour, creativity, and anticipation for the grand finale 🌸🥁 The celebrations were enriched by exploring Chinese memorabilia such as a terracotta warrior, lion and dragon puppets, festival clothing and hats, and miniature theatre masks. These displays sparked wonderful conversations, especially with residents and relatives who had travelled to China and generously shared their personal experiences 🌏 💟

To make the week even more special, everyone enjoyed a Chinese tasting lunch complete with prawn crackers and Dragon Blood cocktails 🍜🍹 The celebrations ended with a spectacular horse and dragon dance that entertained residents and brought huge smiles all around. Many joined in enthusiastically, playing the percussion instruments they had made themselves, creating a joyful atmosphere full of music, movement, and shared celebration 🎶🐉
