We’re absolutely over the moon to congratulate our wonderful dental hygiene therapist Abbey and her partner Adam on the birth of their gorgeous daughter, Elva.

Born on 28th December and weighing 6lbs 6oz, she’s already stolen all our hearts.

The team were so happy to wake up to such amazing news, and we can’t wait to meet her.

As we welcome 2026, we’d like to wish our wonderful team, our patients, and their families a very happy and healthy new year.

We hope our team enjoyed a well deserved break. We’re refreshed, recharged, and excited to reopen tomorrow at 8am.

Day 18 of our Festive Advent and this lovely bunch have been well and truly Elfed!

Christmas Opening Hours

As the festive season approaches, we’d like to let our patients know about our Christmas opening hours.

We will be open as normal up until Christmas Eve when we will close at midday. The practice will then reopen on Friday 2nd January at 8:00am.

If you experience a dental emergency over the Christmas period, please don’t worry. Call our usual practice number 01905 20136, leave a message, and one of our on call dentists will be in touch as soon as possible.

If your emergency is uncontrollable bleeding or swelling then please go to your nearest A&E department.

On day 15 of our Festive Advent we’re delighted to introduce Hayley as our new Practice Manager here at Shrubbery Dental Practice.

Hayley began her dental career back in 2004 as a Dental Nurse, building a wealth of experience and knowledge within the profession. She has been a valued member of the Shrubbery team for just over five years, during which time her dedication, leadership, and commitment to patient care have really stood out.

In December 2024, Hayley stepped into the role of Clinical Lead, and after excelling in this position, she has recently been promoted to Practice Manager. This well deserved promotion reflects her hard work and professionalism.

Please join us in congratulating Hayley on her new role. We’re excited to see her continue to lead and support our team as we move forward into 2026.

On day 14 of our advent we're talking toothbrushes, and which one is best.

Electric toothbrushes can make brushing easier and more effective, especially for children, people wearing braces, or those with reduced hand dexterity.

As long as you are holding the electric toothbrush in the correct position, it will do all the work for you.

That said, a manual toothbrush works just as well with the right technique.

Whichever one you choose, please ensure you are brushing for at least 2 minutes twice a day, and you are using floss or interdental brushes on a daily basis.

Not sure which toothbrush is better for you, or need advice on your technique, please don't hesitate to ask a member of the team during your next visit.

What a wonderful day we had yesterday!

An end of year team meeting, a gorgeous festive lunch, and plenty of laughs during Secret Santa.

We then got stuck into our annual CPR training before finishing the day getting creative with a wreath making class

So many happy, smiley faces all round. It was the perfect way to wrap up the year!

11th Day of Festive Advent and it's Christmas Jumper Day!

Today the team rocked their best Christmas jumpers, which were proudly paired with some festive headwear. From jingling baubles to sparkling antlers, the Practice was a walking winter wonderland and the team received lots of lovely comments from Patients!

Nothing brings out the holiday cheer quite like a sea of colourful knits and glittery accessories. The countdown is well and truly on… Only 14 sleeps to go!!
